Are there any browsers for Android that don't automatically take you to the mobile version of a website? I'm using a 10" Asus tablet so I'm quite happy with the desktop version. In fact, things like Google+ photo galleries and vimeo only show low-res images/vids on their mobile sites so its very annoying. (And I have a seperate rant about Google+...)

Both the pre-installed Asus browser, and Chrome, default to mobile. Anything else?

Isn't there a setting in Chrome?

There appears to be on my Chrome phone browser.

Chrome gives the option to request the non mobile site when you need it. (menu->request desktop site)

Dolphin HD allows you to permanently set the 'agent' to 'desktop' - with the later versions of android though which won't run flash, that can mean pages don't work properly though.

Once ticked this applies to any sites accessed from that point forward doesn't it...so it is a permanent setting.

IME 'request desktop' isn't a permanent setting.

I don't think it is - I've used it from time to time and it doesn't seem to be permanent.

Just tested - maybe it applies only to the tab you're on because it certainly doesn't affect any new tabs which still open in mobile view by default.

I'd like it to be a permanent setting...
