[Closed] What to do with an old bunch of digital cameras?

As above.

I have over the years collected various digital cameras being mostly compacts and a dslr.

Such as Ixus 500's, Kodak 240 etc. and a Canon Digital Rebel. Lenses etc.

Basically, is it worth the Ebay hassle, give them away (who?) or the black bin.

Other cameras include the standard Box Brownie, some other film cameras and Pentax SLR.

Hard to throw away, but just becoming clutter.

Any thoughts.

That camera amnesty is a great idea, alternatively any local charity shop: I doubt it's worth the pain selling old cameras (fwiw, MPB are selling boxed/good condition Canon 350Ds for <£30) but a charity shop could sell it for a little bit and really help someone.

If you have time you could setup a Matrix style bullet-time film set and make some awesome mtb oriented slow-mo clips

Or you could give them to the amnesty programme….

You could try listing them in lots, on eBay, for no reserve, and set it so that 100% of the proceeds go to charity. With any luck, they will find their own market value, and because you are donating the charity I think you'll avoid the fees.

Lenses might still be serviceable. What do you have?

If the alternative is the skip I'd take a modern IXUS off you.

Hi,

I'm interested in any Pentax prime lenses!

It's not just me, some of the more collectable ones go for decent money on eBay. Even the film bodies.

I bought two job lots for the senses and sold the cameras bodies untested. One camera went to an enthusiast, one went to a bedroom dealer who fixed it up and sold it on.

I am going to stick a couple of oldish digital cameras on eBay today.

I expect mine will sell for £50 each. That is worth my time in listing & sorting post. If they were worth less than £20 I wouldn't bother.
