We're off to stay in a farm house near Cheadle for a few days, with a two and a three year old in tow. Any recommendations for days out? We've already got some walks and such planned. No grown up bikes sadly, though we will be having a whizz on one of the rail trails on a balance bike...
Which Cheadle?
Cheadle, Staffs? Cheadle Hulme?
Bramhall park, about 15 mins before sun set all the geese bugger off by flying down the hill.
Pretty cool as a kid to watch. Also loads of kids play things and a nice cafe for the adults.
Farm house? Rail Trails? If only Cheadle had those.
Reminds me of when a truck driver asked me at Keele services ‘how far to Newcastle’? ‘Well that depends…’.
Cheadle royal ftw
Cheadle Heath
Assuming it’s Cheadle staffs as it’s a farm house and not a a flat in Stockport. Alton Towers is the obvious thing with CBeebies land just get a 2 for 1 promotion from somewhere.
If that’s not your thing the the museum of childhood isn’t that far at Sunbury Hall. The steam railway at Leek is nice too.
if Cheadle staffs.
The peak wildlife park is great, loads of animals and a great indoor soft play and usually a bouncy castle.
Dovedale, park up and walk through the dale all the way to MillDale.
If NT members park for free and Ilam park is lovely for a picnic.
Other than that you have virtually the whole of the white peak less than an hour's drive.
For quick drive walks try Dimmingsdale near Oakamoor. Easy to navigate, walk up one side of the valley and back down the other. There are some big boy trails near there if you do happen to have a big boy's bike.
Farm house? Rail Trails? If only Cheadle had those.
Middlewood way? Bollington hall?
😉
Ha sorry, Cheadle Staffs. We're pretty much in the middle of nowhere, Cheadle is the closest biggish place.
Looks like some good options to peruse there, cheers!
Didn't we have this a while back with Cheadle Stockport and two forum members ended up going on a romantic date?
I can't remember that date still 😉
Dimmingsdale, walking and mountain bikeing. Roaches isn't far for a walk. Loads of activities and Tittesworth Resevoir
Even if it's not normally your thing, the church is Pugin-tastic.
Gives you an idea of how fabulous the church experience would have been before the Protestants defabulized it.
