Walk into any old buildings you can find, there's some amazing spots that aren't necessarily brilliantly advertised but you can stumble on some real jems

Take a boat trip to see the sights.
Drink beer and eat chocolate.
Don't drive in the centre. Bloody cyclists everywhere. 😆

Agree.

We went about a month ago and camped next to Bruges.

Heres good:

To be honest though, the hostel bars are by far the best. Sounds 'chavvy'? Intelligent mix of people, lots of beers, food etc:

We went there camping for a week. I took my roadbike with the intention of riding every morning.

.....Then I walked into the nearby supermarket Delhaize. The Isles were FULL of every conceivable Belgian beer. I spent every single morning waking up confused and still pissed.

It was like a Oz and May adventure.

The bike didn't leave the back of the car all week.

The main centre is not that big...grab a tourist map and just wander around. Lovely place, just got to stop yourself taking photos at every turn

Yes, yes, yes, drink beer. Do it!

Beware though, Straffer Hendrick is headgear! A different sort of drunk again.

And visit the excellent Maes (where they brew Bruges Zot) brewery tour.

Drink beer and eat mussels on the square.

Be a little careful doing this.

I had the feeling I'd eatening a Space Hopper hours after doing the above... but couldn't fart or burp.... very uncomfortable.

Struggled to eat a mussels since and I love sea food 😥

Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk has a wonderful Michaelangelo carving.

Chokoreeto on Stoofstrat

Huisbrouwerij de Halve Maan

Groeningemuseum if your taste in art runs to the strange

Stadhuis and Basiliek van het Heilig Bloed on Burg

t'Brugse Beertje +1

Don't buy beer in a beer shop would be my advice - there will be a decent choice in most supermarkets and you will pay normal prices not tourist prices. We used to use the GB Express or Carrefour Express or whatever it is now on Zuidzandstraat opposite the end of Dweerstraat. Ok not an exotic range of choices but not at exotic prices either!

Bruges is great - getting withdrawal symptoms writing this!

Oh, and birdwatching on Uitkerkse Polder (between Bruges and the coast) on the way home if you like that sort of thing.

- Rent a bike
- Go to a pub/bar
- Chocolate museum

One thing I couldn't find was somewhere to eat some decent food without paying the earth for it. Got the feeling there's a lot more to it a mile or two outside the centre, but didn't have enough time to get there. The canal tours looked like fun too.

My mate went recently and went to a bar that had fish swimming inside the sinks any of you regular visitors know where this is. He was too drunk to remember.

Oude Brugge, Chagall, Carillon, Cafe de Pompe for great food, Den Hobbit for slightly more studenty food. Haven't been for a couple of years, so might be a bit out of date.
