I'm thinking 10:30.

I assume this has something to do with starting drinking? In that case it's when the sun is over the yard-arm, which is always at least 5 mins ago

Nothing to do with drinking. Guy coming over to buy something, and said he would be here mid-morning.

No sign, as of yet, so just wondering whether to start getting peeved.

Have a drink. You'll feel better.

Yep. Morning starts at 9:00(for the traditional work hours) and ends at 12 (obviously).

From a Naval/Maritime perspective the morning watch starts at 04:00 until 08:00 so mid morning is 06:00, the forenoon watch starts at 08:00 until 12:00.
The forenoon is followed by the afternoon which is followed by the dog watches, the dog watches are split into two two hour watches, the first dog and the last dog, at sea dog watches are split so the watchmen have time to eat Scran !
Hope this is helpful !

Helpful? No. As I believe the guy is driving here, not sailing. 😉

It was very educational, though 🙂

Anyway, Paul has nailed it. Guy just texted to say he was running late, and will be here around 12:30-ish.

If someone's given you "mid-morning" as a time for getting back to you, doing something, whatever, they're not looking to be pinned down. I was gong to type " you might hear by noon" but it's gone already.

Bloody time-wasters indeed.

I reckon he'll be with you early-afternoon.

EDIT: Or presently*

*to annoy any lurking pedants. 🙂

Thanks Jamie - I know it's never going to be the Jensen Button cliffhanger but it's great for a quickie on a weekend.

Any chance of webcam linkup so we can watch for them approaching your door ?

If I was to judge mid morning by the realistic set off time for today's mid morning ride with my youngest lad, you'll be lucky if he gets there by 4pm.

He's been.

Gone into the garage with me.

Left a bundle of twenties.

...and left a happy man.

On a unrelated note, I need to have a shower.
