[Closed] What thermocouple for an Aga

Had the thermocouple on the Aga changed when we had a new boiler in August and it's gone already.

Picked another generic one up from Screwfix but was wondering whether there's any difference between a generic £8 from them and an Aga specific one at £17.

A few weeks doesn't seem very long for one to last...

I think a standard thermocouple will work just as well.

Any universal thermocouple should do the trick. I'd get one from a gas spares supplier as they should be better quality than Screwfix. I've fitted several to customers Agas and they've been fine for several years but if you go for the aga one it'll fit easily with no messing about with different adaptor fittings.

Hope that helps

Yes, just make sure the tip is enveloped by the flame and you should be sorted.
