My son is working in the South Pacific for a couple of years an wants one. He mentioned GoPro but as all he wants to do is film pretty fishes he probably doesn't need fancy image stabilisation etc., so maybe a cheaper akternatine? Recommendations from peeps who do that type of thing welcome.
A go-pro copy will be fine. Some produce a pretty decent image without the price tag. The light can be somewhat variable in the water and they may struggle a bit. The buttons are also a bit fiddly. Better option might be the Olympus TG. Takes decent pictures. More user control. That would be my choice.
