A small hairy outdoor spider. Just turf it out somewhere chill and damp.

Is it the size of a dinner plate? If not, I wouldn't worry.

Black Lace Weaver Spider?

Catch it and chuck it outside, they eat bugs and stuff so will do you no harm.

Probably.

False Widow probably. Had one in my kitchen.

http://srs.britishspiders.org.uk/portal/p/Summary/s/Steatoda+nobilis

Maybe. There are many varieties and they differ a fair bit in size and markings, and between male and female, but have a common shape on the back.

They're not deadly though can bite with a bit of a sting. Rare chance that someone might be allergic or a pet might get a more nasty reaction.

And yeah, I like to leave spiders alone as they munch on plant pests. This one is best chucked outside though.

Wot deadkenny sez, Steatoda Nobilis, one of the false widows. They can give a bit of a nip, and some people can react rather badly, but the same happens with wasp and bee stings, and far more more often.
Just be thankful we don't, at the moment, get brown recluse spiders in the UK...
