Folks,
While searching for Sontaran and Raston Warrior Robot I came across these lot ...
What do you call these sort of music?
Are they rave music?
Cyber punk music?
They all sound like computer generated music ...
I cannot decide if I like them or find them funny but I don't dislike them. I might play it to some of colleagues who are in their mid 50s and 60s to see how they react ... should be fun.
These artists are rather creative with their graphics aren't they. 😀
I think this is trance with some lovely female vocal ... 😛
Crikey must be mid life crisis ...
😆
edit: oh ya ... I don't listen to music btw but these are funny ...
Don't know what they'd call it today but I spent many happy nights stomping away to that sort of thing in my youth.
Only listened to the last Dean Bodell (cool DJ name!) and it sounded like boring old drum n bass to me.
Is it gonna shock the mid50/60 year olds, or bore them?
Play em some Death Grips if you want to upset them.
It certainly bored this mid-forty year old. I don't think anyone would thank you for making them listen to that. It doesn't do anything, it's just drums and crappy electronic guff in the background.
Thank-you though, for now I know of something else I shouldn't waste my time on. 😉
Shit.
It's the sort of music than when me and my lad are playing a 2 hander on the xbox, one of us will invariably grab the remote and mute it, and the other will nod in agreement.
That sort of music
Put Limewax on the ipod & set off on your favourite downhill, see what happens 😈
The amazing sci-fi images on the vids tell you the potential audience I reckon
I don't listen to music btw but these are funny
^ I find this to be the most curious of quotes.
Never known anyone that doesn't listen to music (other than my Ma Rider). Neither can I find anything humorous about any of your links. Proof that it takes all sorts to make this world an interesting place. Keep being a true original! 🙂
PS As for genre - am guessing some sort of hastily-produced 'teen-techno' from the late 90s - early 2k at a guess. Or later in mainland Europe. 4 to dafloooor!
It's pretty straightforward stuff, but i must admit taking a shine to the Limewax one.
It also irritates me when people dismiss this kind of stuff, sure it's not Led Zeppelin (Who I love BTW) but to say it requires zero talent is somewhat disingenuous.
You try setting this all up and then doing it in real time.

I can't tell you how much I hate Blues, it is, however, played by some of the most talented guitarists that have ever walked the earth, but the output of that talent fails to float my boat 100% of the time.
Life's too short to worry about the fact that other people may or may not like the things you do.
say it requires zero talent is somewhat disingenuous.
Don't think anyone said it required zero talent, I just got the gist that many feel (as music) that it is uninspired/uninspiring.
For my part I love lots of electronic music, too many artists to list - but never loved it because it requires technical knowhow - it has to move me in some way - either rhythmically, lyrically, emotionally etc
I love electronic music, but none of those styles particularly.
I'm not a fan of glitchy or break-beat stuff - the groove is where it's at and those tunes didn't really have much.
As far as the vocal trance vid goes - well, trance was ruined as soon as they started adding vocals and going all commercial,IMO.
Here's a style of trance with a vocal I do enjoy though:
What kind of grammar are these?
EDIT oh alright I know in context it makes sense, but the thread title amused me.

Grammar is my weak point. I find that most European grammars can be very complicated. The French is the worst I think as I found out from watching simple grammatical construction on language programme. Can't even pronounce them without getting sore throat. 😆 I am more used to South East Asian grammar where things come naturally without second thought.
Slowoldman have you tried playing these sot of music to the Mrs or your family? See their reaction ...
My retired accountant colleague, who is a soft spoken nice gentleman, has retired to his secluded country mansion beginning his hobby in painting and looking after his grandchildren, otherwise I would play this music to him.

edit: I just listened for 20 mins and they are giving me some sort of headache ... I feel like having some sort of pressure on my head and after stopping the music the head becomes lighter ... 😯
I've not had an opportunity to listen to any of those tracks yet, but the vid stills I can see look depressingly like they are little more than some sort of generic electro soundtrack to boringly predictable SF video games.
Not exactly Lamb or Portishead.
to say it requires zero talent is somewhat disingenuous
Nobody said that though.

I suspect her response would be similar to mine. Mild disinterest. Each to his own eh?
