After a smartphone with expandable SD so not an iPhone. What's very good for camera and for listening to music through headphones?

Thanks

If I were after a new phone right now it would be a Samsung - S7, or Note 5 (I use the pen quite a bit for work - got a Note 4 at moment)

Xperia Z3 up have great cameras and also support playback of Hi-Res music. Don't know if many other phones do.

In the tradition or recommending what you have- Sony z3. Camera is good enough I only take the dslr out the house for low light reasons.

Typed on a Sony z3 🙂

If you wait until the latter part of the year, the bigger iPhones will come with 256Gb, and the D/A conversion on iPhones is as good as any phone out there.
It's being suggested that the 3.5mm headphone jack is disappearing, and 'phones will have a Lightning plug, and tests of high-end 'phones which are being produced with an alternative Lightning cable are showing that sound quality is noticeably better than the standard 'phones, as there's an outboard DAC built into the plug.
It's also being suggested that the (unadvertised) fairly impressive water-resistance of the current iPhones will be further improved to match other 'waterproof' phones, having extra ports to take removable media will only compromise that ability.
256Gb ought to be enough for most people to be going on with, I'd have thought, that's more than my entire iTunes library.

Just got a S7 Edge and it's a massive step up from anything I've had before. Camera is ace and there are some very fancy tricks involved in getting music into your lughole. Very impressed.

As an aside, I bought outright from a website called Gadget Monocle. £170 cheaper than anywhere in the UK, took a week for delivery. Works out at less than £20/month over 2 years, compared to £150 up front and £30+/month for a 2 year contract. It's the Asian market model too, so dual-SIM if that's your bag.
