Looking for a simple laptop.
Windows
Excel
Tinternet
Basic stuff only.
Ideas where to shop and what to get please.
Does it have to be windows? Google Docs does most of what people want. For a given budget I'd sooner have a Chromebook.
Sorry Mrs Eyepic quite traditional.
Does she open Chrome straight up and do everything in the browser?
Do you need a lot of local storage?
The main thing to look for is an SSD drive. It'll make the most of even a slow processor (which is likely all you require).
May be worth walking into a Currys / PC World or John Lewis and taking a look at what suits.
But the base spec machines in those places almost never includes an SSD.
Here's a 15.6" screen machine from Lenovo (decent brand) with a 128GB SSD for less than £250. I reckon this would meet your brief for about the price of a Chromebook.
Actually, considerably better screen and you could see it in the flesh...
