Just been given a glut of Victoria plums, nice they are but there is no chance of me eating them all before they over ripen.

Anyone want to share some plum recipes, boozy ones particularly welcome.

Plum vodka, but only of they are really ripe.

Get yerself some kilner jars, 1 litre preferably, quarter the plums and fill the jars loosely. Cover the top of the jar with sugar then pour through the vodka slowly. Give it 3 months in a dark cupboard, shaking now and again. Strain and either bottle, or put it back in the jar.

I've just done similar but with brambles and whisky. 3 months is perfect timing for Christmas too. Happy days.

boil 'em up with sugar & freeze 'em in 200g portions so you can make sauces, jams, or pies later. Or, throw them away since plums are disgusting.

We've given all ours to a local farm so they can make wine with them, They're giving us a discount on stuff that they make.
