New longer Brompton cycling/shorter train journey strategy going well. Not getting tired like I thought I would in fact, seriously thinking of stepping up to a totally bike-based commute of 28 miles - 56 per day.

Looking to spend in the region of £600-£700.

Disc brakes preferable. Light but strong, 1" tyres.

Reccomendations?

I would put an offer in for this
if its your size, or new ones are only £740 apparently

light, strong, discs, £700?

Good luck! Closest I can think of is a Ridgeback Cerium @ £850, presuming you want drops (56m a day is A LOT).

Just got a Kona Dr Dew, sounds exactly what you need, or a cannondale bad boy.

Can you get the Ribble winter trainer for that much? If so, that would be my call.

A quick search for the Ridgeback comes up with a price of £697.
