Think this is the most boring question I've asked on here, but the current control has finally stopped working properly. It's always been pretty crap hence asking if there is a suitable replacement that isn't just a new one the same?

A quick Google suggests you can get genuine ones for about £15. My original one is spot on, perhaps you were just unlucky with yours??

Aye maybe, although it has always been really slow, which Google suggests is not an uncommon problem.

Logitech Harmony remotes are great, and there are cheaper options in the range, the benefit of them is that they can control everything, so you end up with a single remote for the TV, Humax, sound bar, stereo, etc.

I shall have a look at those then, thanks.

I'm using a Harmony 300 with a Foxsat and it's very good but I may look out for one with at least one programmable button to run two or more button presses.
300 is better than the Humax remote anyway.

Is it the remote that's slow? I'd always assumed it was the box.

So had I, but when I started reading about it it seems it may be the remote. Our remote is definitely knackered, I think it's probably got some sort of beverage in it.

One thing that really helps is removing the lacquer that is on the inside of the 'window' in front of the IR receiver on the box - just scratch it off.

Saw that on some TV forum, I shall try that too.
