Lol!

Be honest OP, how long is your beard. Once you grow out of the designer stubble stage it ceases to itch.

I bought some beard oil, it immediately transformed my itchy beard into a oily itchy beard.

I’ve never been happier to shave in my life.

About 7mm avg, its difficult to measure with a steel tape measure. I'm in week 3. I have found that from about week 3-7 its gets very annoying.

Itching you or somebody else?

Someone else more than me, but it's me i'm concerned about!

A razor

Just used one on my head again so I need a beard to complement it.

The itching does pass.

In the meantime I found Brisk Beard Shampoo to be very effective. Leaves a nice smell too.

Well let it grow to the lost in the wild stage then trim it back. That is why beards are the preserve of those who can not those who complain 😉

One of those exfoliating net type things and scrub it with shower gel, then conditioner for a few minutes. I keep mine short, and use nivea soft cream instead of beard oil.

I just nourish mine. Last night I nourished it with spaghetti carbonara. Tomato soup is particularly good but a good banjo egg bap tops the lot.

psling

I find adding fertiliser like that just makes it worse, tonight it has some mousaka in it, I think it's allergic to aubergene.

The name mikewsmith conjurs an image of a leathery trail beast riding a rigid fixie with a beard down to his naval!

My 6yo has been scratchiing it with a back scratcher to help out!

Ha! I nearly googled that!

Beards stop itching when you grow through it, it's a transient phase.

Dead skin makes your beard itch. Exfoliate with a nail brush, use moisturiser and FFS don’t use shampoo, conditioner or oil. Balm or a dry conditioner is the way forward.

Just re-read, 7mm? That’s stubble. Tis not a beard 😀

Unleaded petrol. Rub well in.

Ignite.

Kills all the nits and fleas, and nicely toasts any remaining bread crumbs for later consumption.

You'll never have a beard problem again.

@mikewsmith ..that beer looks ace..not only does it change the colour of your beard ..make it grow at an extraordinary rate ..but by all accounts enables you to grow additional limbs if the bloke standing behind you in the first pic is anything to go by ..

I'm assuming it's an Australian brew ..is it available in the UK ..?

Exfoliate with a nail brush

I was thinking of using a wood rasp

use moisturiser

I'm not falling for that one, look what happened when I asked about itchy beards!

Please tell me this is in the same category as Growacet.

Nope. Why? Is washing considered unmanly now?

Bulldog Beard Balm helps here. I sometimes use oil too as mine really is an unruly little beastie.

Soap works for me whilst washing my face.

Beards itch because the ends of the hairs are sharp, especially if you wet shaved before you started to grow it, just trim a mm or so off it, it'll square the ends of the hairs off and stop it itching, honestly there's so much bollocks written on this subject.

Surely it can't be that difficult to get sudo-cream off something hairy?

Just keep it clean properly.  Shampoo and (maybe) condition it. Give it a really good rub to get the skin clean, it's just like the rest of the hair on your head, if you don't wash it then it'll end up greasy, and full of dirt and dandruff.

You can get beard shampoo/conditioner but apart from having to remove slightly more soup and biscuit than normal shampoo and smell more manly I couldn't see the point spending my own bike part buying money when I could nick my OH TreSemme.

Soap works as well, but you end up with a beard the texture of pubes rather than hair.

Well let it grow to the lost in the wild stage then trim it back.

I tried that, as far as I could tell it just looked like I'd been lost in the wild for slightly less time, I don't have one of those beards you can comb into shape and make it look neat!

I made the stupid mistake of shaving in December. Seriously you weirdo's how do you cope without a beard, it's f****** freezing riding a bike in winter without a beard.

Pre beard I had a similar dilemma...

A quirky chap selling beard paraphernalia suggested I use his brand of beard oil to stop the itch...

Worked wonders for the week or two it's deathly itchy...don't need it now I'm at 'hobo' beard lengths..

Beard shampoo and conditioner every few days, but beard oil and a brush after every shower. My beard is much softer and less unruly now

I have a nice orange and clove smelling oil that's a very pleasant smell

Have you tried naga chilli oil in your beard to stop the itching?

An illicit substance of your choice after the itching stops.
