I've had Golfs the last 16 years and been great for transporting, me, my bikes and a bit of luggage but itching for something a bit bigger especially in terms of luggage room. I tried a Tucson but felt a bit bus like and a Yeti was a bit tinny. Something for 2 people, 2 bikes and luggage that isnt too bulky or slow or expensive would be ideal. Any ideas?.
Golf estate?
Golf with a roof box?
Every few years I ask myself the same thing, and then buy another golf. A4 estate perhaps?
911 and a freight forwarding service?
Octy estate is the official answer on here isn't it?
For 2 people?
I’d stick with the Golf.
Golf GTI + towbar
Sorted.
Octavia. Big boot but doesn’t feel like a big car. I’ve had golf’s and an A3 and it doesn’t really feel much bigger to drive. My last car was a Mondeo and that felt massive whereas the Octavia really doesn’t.
Seat Leon Cupra ST 300 4Drive
Is this place sponsored by VAG?
T-Roc or Skoda/Seat replica.
Mazda3
Kia Sportage/Nissan Qashqai/Renault replica
Ford Focus.
Renault Megane (the GT models look rather nice).
T-Roc or Skoda/Seat replica.
Aren't they more Polo/Ibiza/Fabia sized?
No, T-Roc is a Golf floorpan with big wheels. Unlike the previous generation Tiguan I don’t think it’s even any bigger inside.
The Skoda/Seat clones might be.
I got a brand new Golf 1.4 DSG just before Christmas and although it's only done 2,500 miles so far, I have not one issue or complaint, according to my figures, it's averaged 49.7mpg during that time and very little of my driving is on dual carriageway/motorway. I'm no vicar or a Harry Flatters, but I'm well happy with that.
Mondeo lots of room cheaper than the above
Toyota Auris estate or Avensis, surely for mid sized, reasonable comfort and economic...
Golf R estate.
Toyota Auris estate or Avensis, surely for mid sized, reasonable comfort and economic…
New Auris has just launched.
I’ve currently got an Avensis saloon which is fine.
Non-hybrid engine options don’t seem that great though, and Toyota currently have a policy of battening their cars hard with the ugly stick.
