A decent brand like Anker. Also use the phone carefully. Turn it off overnight. Put it in aeroplane mode when you don't need calling and data. Preload maps so you can go longer without data.
Ive had a couple of them - I noticed no difference at all between different ones that was significant.
2 x 10000 is more flexible than 1 x 20000
Can't fault our Anker ones. Just checked and the 20,000mah ones we bought in the spring are £27 on Amazon at the moment.

I think the anker ones allow for the power bank to be charging from the mains and charging a device. Not all power banks do this.
Its worth doing a test to see how much power you can put into it in an hour. So if your running low you know how long you need to stay in a pub to get enough charge. Some take 24 hours to fully charge. Make sure your plug and power cable is decent to speed it up. Do the instructions tell you what power plug to use?

How do they compare to Anker and INUI ?
In a similar vein has anyone got recommendations for a pass through charger..... Found one Anker one but it comes attached to a wall wart charger and a built in cable.....

iniu or anker, as others have said turn of cell/data when riding if you do not need it, on the moors with no signal, your phone will constantly search for a network killing your battery.
Planning on carrying two packs 10,000mah and a small 5000 mah one for the Garmin (which should be enough for the whole trip to power the Garmin). Phone will be on power save mode. I'll take a compact charger as we'll be popping in a pub for tea/lunch at some point.
Seems passthru is something found more on larger units .
The inui 20000mah has all the features I want. -charge and discharge at the same time. But if it was half the size it would be much better as the 20k unit is quite bulky.
Nitecore do a waterproof 5000mah one. With pass through and so do cinq but again 10k just seems a more useful size these days.
Context - I want to have a battery pack on charge all the time to use as a buffer pack - I have had bad experience with overvolting when running down hills at high speed and no load on USB converters. -killed igaro d3 in Canada this way and the two cycle2charge units died just riding too and from work without load.
Dead usb dynamo chargers?
Have little Revolution one for 10/15 years ,(matchbox type) it's always worked. Even had to rewire the unit after a spade at the dynamo parted. The copper cable was black, an easy fix as you can open it up, break a cable on an Igaro at the usb end and it's toast. Takes a while to charge a small power pack but it starts working at 8 Kms.
