Currently alternating between Nivea Aftershave Balm and Bluebeards Revenge Aftershave Balm and topped with Botanics (Boots) Intensive Moisturiser for Men SPF12
Clarins for Men, best thing I've found for dry, sensitive bloke skin
Real men don't moisturise!
*pinches geoffj's bum*
if i really have to use something, I use water. it's quite cheap and remarkably effective
Gravel and sand paper. FFS men, have you no shame.

Clinique m-gel lotion or m-protect with spf21 if it's sunny out. 😳
Using Gail Hayman at the moment at it was on offer on direct cosmetics!
I get very dry skin after a shave, but am generally active on the sebaceous front.
Have to use something every day.
That Clinique one that comes in the grey tube. But that Vita Lift looks quite tempting. It says "I look after my face, but I'm still a man"
How would you say it's better?
Next question - what moisturiser do you use for your hands? I use the Neutrogena one that's allegedly used by Norwegian fishermen. It keeps my hands from getting chapped and sore, because they're so soft and smooth.
if i really have to use something, I use water. it's quite cheap and remarkably effective
Unfortunately water has the opposite effect for me, it's remarkably effective at leaving me with tight, unpleasant feeling skin. Alas I'm stuck either feeling like I've spilled PVA glue on my face or using a cheapo light moisturiser. Lifes a bitch.
just the muddy sandy filth from the chase and peakdistrict, gets rid of dead skin and leave my skin looking like that of the finest tramp
same as coffeeking. Face goes tighter than Anne Robinsons scowl if I dont moisturise after washing.
Face goes tighter than Anne Robinsons
...bit worried about this, where's he going....
scowl
phew, good save.
its know reel effort to wind up the pedants 😉
Ditched the baldy bonce in favour of a grade one so no need to moisturise the head any more and as I shave my face around once every full moon all moisturising products are temporarily suspended!
(prior to this it was the men's Avon stuff)
Lard pour homme.
I think most moisturiser uses olive oil as a base, although they the chuck alcohol in 😕 I use this stuff called double base I got it for a bit of eczema I got but it works great as a moisturiser!
Eau de Mossmorran.
*pinches geoffj's bum*
*Feigns shock - but really quite likes it
😆
Palmers cocoa butter. also smells good enough to eat
Dry Cement mix.
Aloe Vera
Aveda for men, have done for years. MWAXxxx
Boots simply sensitive day moisturiser
I'm going out, party on boys 😀
vaseline intensive care
Nivea Sensitive unfragranced stuff. They have just changed it though and it is crap now.
I used to use Clarins, had different stuff for night and day but I found that using nothing is actually just as effective.
So, these days I use nothing.
Origins post shave balm, brilliant stuff. Followed by some lotion for blokes by los Earle that the wife got me, seems really good. Their shave cream is great
Are we talking real men or the plastic male model ones that seem to inhabiting most places lately.
Whats wrong with natural sweat , it worked for cavemen
I used a few different things over the years, got into the habit due to to working in the watersports industry in Spain and ski indusstry in France. I used Kiehls which was great but expensive, and switched to loreal anti fatigue lotion and its great very light and non-greasy.
😀
This is a,what I believe to the correct word, troll, isn't it?
Olay daily stuff with SPF 15 in it (yep it's the womens one!).
Men-U. Goes on fresh, zingy and with a dash of citrus. Tingles for a few moments before settling into a calming glow.
Assos chamois cream ace as a post shave moisturiser
let the stoning begin
I like butter, preferably from Jersey cows.
Boysturiser?
mefty, not a troll. Just genuinely interested to hear what the guys are using. I find iDave and TSY's replies insightful. I guess they'd put themselves up there as real men. I like that. I'm impressed with them. As ever.
Dry skin sufferer here. I use Neutrogena. Works for me.
great big tub of epaderm 3 in 1 emollient (same as double base?). I get a bit of excema, sorts it out. I also use it on my weary bicycling buttocks and it works a treat.
Nivea Aftershave Balm 😀
Clarins here. Works well, as does their excellent Jeunesse des Mains hand cream.
Been using Men's Science daily moisturiser for the past 6
Months best thing I've used got some liz Earle as a freebie
It was not bad didn't get on with clinique or nivea
Jeez! just been reading a thread where a guy is getting slated for wanting to wear knee pads for xc! And here you are discussing bloody moisturiser for men?????
It's a crazy mixed up contradiction of a site this!
And that's what makes it
Makes it what? lol
Well in that case, if I have some to hand, no pun intended, Nutregena Hand Cream for when my hands are cracking, but as this is essentially Vaseline with a bit extra, Vaseline suffices. Face - water - although I have some stuff that was a freebie at some function. Like my aftershave, it is never used.
oxboy: umm, I wouldn't slate Duane for riding xc with kneepads. his idea of xc is vastly different to stw's middle aged idea of xc!
I really don't think it has anything to do with trying to be macho, but I've somehow managed to survive for 30 years without using moisturiser (apart from after getting sunburned).
can you sell your face as prime hardened leather grum or are you just normal, considering we live in a boring climate of little sun
🙁
I also use it on my weary bicycling buttocks and it works a treat.
Sweet Jesus I did not need to know that. 😯
Cheapo basic stuff from LiDLs for me. 😀 Most moisturisers are essentially the same anyway, just ponced up with perfumes, colourings and fancy packaging. The basic ingredients are often just simple stuff like liquid paraffin and glycerine.
I use a moisturiser cos swimming dries my skin out a lot, which makes it feel uncomfortable, but yeah, it is pretty much a vanity product unless you have some sort of dermatological condition as Kevevs mentions.
Simple light on t'face, Palmers cocoa concentrate dans le hands. Rough with the smooth.
that does sound very nice. I can't wait till we all meet up.
**** me you lot care about this.......
Most important thing for good skin is to get a good night's sleep.
stuff that doesn't make me feel cold. roll on central heating...
Surprised no one has mentioned Boots No7 yet. I use their anti-aging(!) SPF15 stuff because I am a soft southern poofter and a bit vain. And because it's cheaper than the Clinique stuff I used to use.
