Thinking about getting a new Laptop for light photo editing (I’m not a professional) watching films on the plane and holiday and light gaming. Main game I want to play again is Black Mesa, Half Life 2 and Emulation for N64 etc. use my Xbox Series X as my main gaming system. Also use it for working from home office etc and teams.
Budget no more than £900.

Preferably 15 inch or smaller rather than a 17inch monster.

Have look at https://www.dell.com/en-uk/dfh/lp/outlet. I have bought from them a few times and got some bargains, including voucher codes and cashback and a decent warranty. Our current laptop was a 'dent and scratch' but arrived in excellent condition.

Dell paid for with an American Express.  £100 cashback on a spend over £750 if you have the card or know somebody who does.  I've had my Dell Vostro for 3 years and it's been faultless as have all the other Dell's I've had from work over the years.  HP on the other hand is a different story.  If I couldn't get a Dell I'd go with Lenovo as the gf had a good experience with her work issued ones.

Total overkill but would do all that you ask of it. And more. You could [s]probably[/s] run Cyberpunk on that.

Dunno how the consumer stuff is mind.

As a left field suggestion, what about a cheap pro laptop like a Thinkpad and a Steam Deck for the fun stuff? You could probably get both on budget.
