For dog walking. My old faithful Kawasaki Has finally torn itself to death. My MTB Jacket Endura one is also starting to disintegrate inside and nearly 10 years of faithful service. So I need something new for my 3-7 mile dog walks. Don't wanna spend more than £160 because I'm a tight arse. And needs to be able to withstand a Lancashire downpour. And something that will go over a fleecey hoody etc as I'm forever cold below 15c.

Preferably not a Magic Mushroom induced colour. So Navy, blue black and Grey.

I'd check what's on offer at sportpursuit.com, personally I like Columbia jackets as they tend to be decent priced and perform pretty well. Jacket sizing seems to come up pretty big though (I'm a XXL in their t-shirts but between M and L in a couple of jackets I have)

£140 Ridgeline Classic

You may find you don’t need your fleece hoody with this jacket

I have recommended this to friends and family who feel the cold and they all have fed back that they love it, soft and quiet fabric, breathable and works in the rain

I was tempted by one of these Musto's, reduced from £400 to £160.

Couldn't really justify it.

Edit: Just noticed they only have small left, they had all the sizes a couple of days ago.

Patagonia's Torrent Shell 3L jacket is £180 at RRP - a bit over budget I know, but available for quite a bit less if you shop around - and just a no-nonsense everyday waterproof. Quite sturdy, nothing flash, waterproof ime anyway.

Or Gore-Tex from Sport Pursuit, but three-layer boggo standard stuff rather than Paclite or Active or whatever.

My daughter has Torrent in yellow. It’s great. I just wish men could buy it in yellow. I don’t need to be glow on a bike but id rather stand out a bit.

Barbour tweed from Ebay/Vinted. Not cold like a wax cotton jacket. Otherwise berghaus with a fleece underneath.
