£2.50 for a 355ml can of Sierra Nevada pale ale in Morrisons, £2.00 for a bottle of the same 355ml in Waitrose.

🤷🏻‍♂️

You'd better not visit a pub then.

It's not so much the price of the beer, but that Waitrose is cheaper than Morrisons!!!

I won't tell you what I'm (happily) paying for my two cans of Overtone beers most weekends (although the fact that it's only two might give you a clue).

It's worth it though, a different brew almost every week and I'd swear expensive IPA gives you a happier drunk than cheap IPA which just makes you sleepy 😎

I nearly cried when I went to get my usual 4 for 3 bottles of Aspalls in Asda earlier. No deal just £2.30 each now and £2.50 for the imperial. It's gone beyond the pale now 😞

Well Morrisons isn’t what it used to be, it was bought by some US venture capital sharks in a hugely overpriced deal. It has noticeably gone down the shitter since then as they try and sweat their asset - I avoid it if I can.

I agree, anything less than 660ml won't rid me of my perishing thirst 🤣🍺

Slightly off topic, but thought it was worth a mention... Morrisons would love you to belive the HQ is in bradford, yorkshire, and technincally it is, but for tax reasons, it's actually a petrol station in Gibraltar.

There’s a Morrisons supermarket in Gib. And it has a petrol station attached. Nothing else is true about that myth though.

From Companies house:

Registered office address
Hilmore House, Gain Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, BD3 7DL

Aye, without googling Morrisons HQ is on Gain Lane but I suspect that's no longer the case. I used to work nearby for many years. Bradford is great and awful in equal measures!

Morrisons head office is Gain Lane, Bradford; I did some consulting there a few years and know, through contacts, that's still HO.
Their private equity owners have a different registered address.
Nothing unusual - or illegal - in that.

Morrisons recently came out as the highest price on a range of monitored goods. Aldi and Lidl were, of course, cheapest with Sainsburys 3rd cheapest.

I've learnt something from this thread, people consider peroni as beer!

I took a girlfriend to Morrisons HQ for an interview for so e high up H&S job, we stayed the night in a premier Inn or similar. We were warned not to go to any town centre pubs on a Saturday night 😆
