Not at home to check but want some bigger sockets (>14mm). I have a couple of bog standard sets at home (which both go to 13mm). Is the fitting on the wrench likely to be 1/4'' or 3/8''?

Cheers

Most likely to be 1/4" if the existing set only goes up to 13mm.

3/8 will get you to 19mm

This is what I have seen. I guess I could just get an adapter to save buying a new wrench but I worry it might make things difficult in confined spaces.

Yeah, probably a 3/8

Just bought a 26mm for doing forks and they only came in 1/2", so  I bought one of these

[damn this new forum!]

One of these -

So I can use with my existing torque wrench (took me a while to find one, so thought it might be useful to share 🙂 )

If you want something reasonable quality then halfords often have a good deal on socket sets. If you are going up a size then it's worth getting a new wrench too.

3/8 'standard' size, 1/4 is for finer stuff as it won't take a massive amount of force ( have snapped 1/4" drive stuff before & 3/8" when working on the van ( snap on 18") breaker bar )

1/2" is for heavier duty stuff ( cars etc)
