We all have a "stuff drawer" or "bowl of crap".

I was rummaging around in mine the other day and picked out a few things that on their own are not so easily identified for what they are.

So here they are. L to R,  1st and 2nd have their own purpose, 3rd and 4th are both part of a larger item.

I wouldn't presume that this thread might match the might of the "Last thing I made" thread but if you have something interesting in your tat repository post a photo up and challenge the forum to identify it.

Use [forumname] and post links to ask questions or make claims.

well the second one is a mini torx drive, maybe with some sort of ratchet?

3 is for poking stuff somewhere and the last one is the universe from Men In Black

That’s not a Torx driver, it has too many splines.

2 is a trepanning drill.

3 is some sort of pressure release valve. Probably from a Land Rover.

4 is either two bits of Lego, a foot from a toaster you threw out two house moves ago or quite a nice valve cap.

Is #4 either a lens out of a mini torch, or some sort of spacer which pushes an internal LED out through a panel?

#3 looks like part of a solenoid, perhaps a fuel cut-off solenoid or suchlike and #4 is the lens from a peephole door viewer

What's the bottom end of #3 look like?  Is it flat or recessed?  Ie, does it slot on the end of some sort of tool or other?

#3 looks like it’s a mechanical Diesel engine injector to me.

#4 I too would say it’s a cats eye with the metal covering case removed.

Yeah, good thread.

^^^plus one

I don’t know what either of these are.

The black item is 16” wide, plastic fabric on one side, squashy rubber cubes on the other.

The metal clamp is 8” across and made of unfinished oiled steel. It has three wingnuts and is stamped ‘Footprint’ (Footprint tools Sheffield I believe).

Kneeling pad…

That makes sense – I was going to use to protect photo kit in a Pelican case, but I won’t cut it up now.

Ok...

Whats this? This is a small, lose-able thing that I decided I should tuck in my wallet so that I didn't lose it as I'd regret it if I did.

I haven't lost it - but I'm buggered if I can remember what its an important part of. The green bit of tape is models own and the train ticket is for scale

Whatever its an important part of hasn't burst into flames or crashed as a result of this important bit not being present.... yet. I think its been in my wallet for a couple of years now.

EDIT - its actually two quite thin things

Looks like the 20mm or 15mm spacer plates from a set of pinch bolt axle fox 36s, 2015s i think.

Think they're 20mm spacer plates.

The 15mm ones have an extension off the top of them.
