I'm an Amazon prime member for next day delivery, so I pay a premium for it. They are now not providing next day delivery due to the bad weather. I've just emailed them and spoke to Sean in customer service. He said it's due to bad weather conditions, I said I didn't make it snow and I want my prime membership for the month refunded.

So who's right? Me? Or Sean at amazon?

Ps I know I'm being a d#@k

I can't see anything in the small print about it tbh. Pretty suprised they didn't cover themselves with something about bad weather

I had this last weekend when it was just a bit chilly.  Looked to order Fri but Mon delivery.  Didn't place the order. Checked again Sun back to next day.  Could it be double pay for Sat/Sun?!

Bigyim, I suggest you read clause 3 and 5 of the actual t&cs:

They might give you a quid "voucher", like you get for picking no-rush delivery.  If you speak to them nicely

... oh

I watched The Grand Tour - it wasn't particularly prime at all. Can I have my month's money back please?

Fairest thing would be for Amazon to suspend Prime charges during the period for which they're claiming not to be able to comply with their obligations.

Seems unlikely!

Seems unlikely!

Not helped by the fact other services are rolled into it eg photo service and video.

Guess one compromise would be to default to the no rush option and give the £1 or whatever it is.

Ordering on Wed and Prime stuff was showing Friday delivery, but accepted that, then email saying it wouldn't be until Monday (needed it this week)...

... but it turned up Thursday anyway, so all is still good and grumpy complaint on STW and social media withheld.

I even got an email a couple of minutes after it popped through the letterbox to say it had popped through the letterbox.

I think you're in the right but that doesn't make it right. I got a delivery from them today, pretty surprised tbh (and delivered by myhermes, double surprised!)

I'd side with Shaun.

I'd much rather my stuff was delayed by a day or two than have delivery drivers trying to maintain their normal delivery schedule in this weather.

If you choose One-Day Delivery, your order will be dispatched with the intention that it's delivered one day after dispatch

I'm pretty sure the important word here is intention, not promise or guarantee, not even expectation.

Go Sean!

Sometimes i feel sorry for prime delivery drivers and this is one of those times as they'd be the poor folk pushed to try and still deliver 🙁

I think that’s clear enough, and a reasonable person would look out of his window and accept that, yes, shit does actually happen.

G'wan Sean, you tell 'em where he can stick his next day delivery in a flipping blizzard.

(not to mention that the 15 pages of Ts & Cs you didn't read because no one does but ticked to say you did no doubt covers this sort of thing).

PS... if you're after next day delivery but don't care about the rest of prime it might be worth adding a company name to your account - they just offered me a free business account that comes with free next day delivery for nowt).

I’m with Sean. In fact, I wish Sean had the power to refuse you any further custom with amazon.

My issue isn't with the drivers. Seems you are all siding with a mass corporation who evades tax and has a track record of poor employee rights.

I wasn't rude to Sean I was just asking could he he refund me my prime membership for the month as I haven't been provided the full prime service.

And, I ordered some doctor brown bottles for my 2 week old baby to try and reduce her colic.

I'm with Sean too. Regardless of any T&C's, common sense dictates that severe, unusual and inclement bad weather will have an impact on delivery. It goes in the box labeled "just one of those things that happen and not worth another thought ever again".

Yep go Sean .

Why dont you use your local chemist to get them ?

you are the one giving money to a big corporation who doesnt pay tax .

I do have some sympathy for that position but a)prime covers a whole raft of services now and b) if you dont like the mass corporation who dodges tax then shouldnt you stop shopping with them?

Dont get me wrong the more amazon take the piss on tax, comingling counterfeits with genuine products and aws trying to take over the world the more i am tempted by a clean break from them but to ask for a refund and then take the high ground is a tad dubious.

Bit rich raising this when you're signed up to Prime 😀

Even if they agreed to any kind of refund, I'd only expect it to be for the days they couldn't fulfil their one-day 'obligations', rather than a whole month, so you'd be entitled to about 50p.

I ordered something from Amazon Thurs AM. They tempted me to take a week's Prime for 99p (already done the 1 month free tryout).

NOT ONLY have they ripped me off 99p and will now be delivering Tuesday the courier is Hermes.

I will be phoning them up, pointing them to the Singletrackworld thread and asking in no uncertain circumstances for my 99p back.

(PS myHermes website tracking is telling me delivery will be today but it hasn't arrived yet (Amazon website says Tuesday).

People have died as a result of the road conditions over the past few days.

Sean is cool. You are being a cock.
