All, looking for a indoor filler to fill old holes from a removed curtain track. I'm looking for a filler which can fill deepish holes in dot and dabbed plasterboard which (crucially) can be drilled/screwed. I will refit a new one in the future but the wall is being skimmed so can't guarantee I won't hit a filled hole. The best I can see so far is Toupret murex, I usually use Toupret products but can I use an exterior filler indoors? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks
You can add epoxy to the likes of dry poly-filer. Buy one of those cheap syringe type epoxies and that will make the filler able to be drilled without it crumbling
Maybe bang some wooden dowels/offcuts into the holes then fill around them. That way you'll have something relatively decent if you hit a hole.
Thanks. So you mean the 2 part epoxy glues or something else? Dowels isn't a bad call either, keep the suggestions coming!
Depends on the track, but I'd use any filler and move the brackets. Failing that batten or dowels as suggested
So you mean the 2 part epoxy glues
2 part yes. You can actually get a mix using cement that includes epoxy(obviously not for this application) that is really handy for outdoor repairs to walls and the like.
In the building trade its known as hybrid mortar or chemical or injection mortar, but the premise of it is the same. You use a powdered filer and instead of mixing water into it you mix epoxy.
Epoxy putty would also work very wel, and be an easier to mix and less messy solution.

Thanks @dyna, something like a chemical injection mortar would be perfect as I could just use the catrirdge and my gun. I have lots and lots of holes left from extracted rawl plugs and something gunable would be perfect. I know these are typically from fixing into concrete etc but need to see if I can find one which is gunable and drillable. Thanks
I did exactly what you want to do with great success using that ronseal wood filler. Make sure to dust out your holes and spray them with water. That stuff dries like iron. Curtain pole still up after five years.
Not sure how deep your holes are though, mine went into the concrete lintel behind the plaster so pretty big.
I used chemical mortar and threaded studs to fit a gun cabinet, it's going nowhere! It's definitely an option if you're filling into brick as is hammering an appropriately sized dowel in like people did way back before rawlplugs existed.
If you do decide to go the mortar route you can usually reuse it if you have extra nozzles. It's also a bugger once it's hard so make sure it only goes where you want it to, I'd consider taping around the hole so anything that comes out can easily be removed. Oh and it stinks, unsurprisingly for an exothermic reaction. Speaking of, it also gets damn hot.
Milliput would be ideal for this task.
Thanks all. I'm going to give the below a try and will report back. I opted for this as not only is it hard as nails, I can drill it and it's gunable. Will report back..

How did it work out?
I can confirm, for my need it was perfect. I used a small amount of expanding foam to create a plug between plasterboard and cavity then gunned in the resin. If, when I hang up the curtain rail (once plastered) and hit one of these I'll be able to fix in/to it not problem.
