I don’t particularly enjoy the outward patriotism, flag waving, street party kinda stuff associated with this weekend, so have some alternatives planned;

Thursday - lie in + Self Assessment day
Friday - drive chain refresh, render repair, mow lawn and cups of tea day.
Saturday - bugger all planned
Sunday - our bike clubs annual London - Southend - London with chips on the beach.

Anyone else?

Actual plans? Nothing at all. I'm hoping to avoid as much of the jubilee as possible so I'll probably ride my bike and go out on my paddle board.

I bought a replica of a 17th Century Spanish 6 sail galleon.

I've staffed it with naked blonde ladies and intend to set sail on Jubbly day. We'll sail around the world and every 12 months I'll replace the staff, Hugh-Heffner style.

I don't like 'forced fun' events - find them hard work
I don't like large groups of people - find them hard work
I don't like family gatherings - find them hard work

So MrsP has got relatives heading to her mum's, they're having a BBQ and big get together, they're planning other stuff to do with relatives, days out etc while they're visiting. I'm working on plans to avoid all of this, mostly riding bikes, fettling bikes, pottering in the garden or sitting in the garden drinking coffee after riding, fettling or pottering.

+1

All of my biking mates are otherwise engaged all bloody weekend so I suspect I'll be doing DIY...

I am hoping to get the brakes swapped on my KSL at some point.

Apart from the local desecration of the iconic design of the postbox with some god awful mass infestation of 'celebration' knitted toppers I'm sensing the whole thing is going to completely pass me by. I was off work this week anyway and don't live on a street. I suppose a couple of things I've ordered will probably be delayed arriving which is annoying, otherwise business as usual.

Apart from the aforementioned serial postbox desecrator, I'm sensing mass queenie flag shagging apathy in these parts. Which is reassuring.

It's a bank holiday weekend.

And half term.

Like any sane person I've arranged to be working every day, then taking my time off when things quiet down.

I think kilo has the winning plan.

Oh, seen some of those knitted post box toppers, and really like them.

I've decided to wish all the royalists well, and I hope they make the most of what could be the current Monarch's last hurrah. Have fun all. I'll be quietly sitting this one out.

Wales Wednesday evening for riding

Thursday Cadar Idris

Friday Coed y Brenin

Saturday and Sunday ride where we feel like

Best bit is that the campervan has no TV in it so we can steer well clear of the sycophantic broadcasting

Flying across the world to accidentally arrive on the downslope of peak patriotism. With jet lag i suspect it will seem somewhat surreal.

Thursday I'll be finishing the subframe swap on the Mini.
Friday I'll either be finishing what I didn't do Thursday or out on the bike.
Saturday so family stuff and take the Mini for it's MOT. If it passes and the weather is fine I'll take the long way home.
Sunday is left blank and will depend on the weather and my energy levels.

Like any sane person I’ve arranged to be working every day, then taking my time off when things quiet down.

In my old job that was always my plan, usually worked as plenty of people would want to swap shifts. Sadly the new job doesn't work weekends or bank holidays so not an option this time.

It’s our 20th wedding anniversary on Thursday, so a nice dinner for that. Then a bbq on Friday with friends, followed by 2 weeks away in our caravan.

Thursday to Sunday we're on a family camping trip with about 40 other families, heading into North Wales for lots of kiddy activities and a jubilee party. Then from Sunday PM until Wednesday, youngest FBJ and I are meandering home on the loaded tandem via as many ice cream farms and play parks are necessary to keep him spinning the cranks, 3 nights wild camping in the hammocks plus the occasional pint for me. Can't wait.

I had planned a long weekend finishing off the patio I started last year,  carefully avoiding all the people/celebrations until breaking cover back at work on Monday.

Those plans have been scuppered by Mrs F, apparently we're going to a street party/bbq at the outlaws on Friday evening, meh.

@csb I haven't been before, but a couple of friends went to the last one and said it was amazing. I'm really looking forward to it! And taking the weirdest combination of stuff I've ever taken to a festival...!

Definitely avoiding all celebrations. We're going to sod off somewhere in our converted transit for the first time in a fair few months as it's been used as furniture storage while we moved house. Planning on avoiding the lakes on a long weekend and going to the peaks instead, what can go wrong eh?!

Nothing huge.

Last few days with my folks in Swansea then we're getting the train to London on Tuesday where the in-laws are taking the kids for a few days while me and the misso go to Brighton for a couple of nights, then back to London to fly out to Barcelona for ten days. (we don't go back to Oz until September so there's more Europe to come but I figured you don't wanna hear the rest....)

Riding bikes, visiting colleagues/friends for BBQs, mist coat on the plaster in our kitchen refurb before the units come in on Tuesday, gardening. There is a street party on Sunday on our lane - tbh it is just an excuse for a get together. We are a really close street, so it’s more of a post covid/lane get together that has some bunting. I’m looking forward to it tbh.

Planned? Absolutely nothing. Awaiting a turbo arrival, so need to have someone in at least for today. Got place to myself for ~24 hours while better half and her sis go to a fancy spa near Liphook. Weather is a bit unsettled, but I'll try to my daily cycling fix outdoors, about to hit 7 months daily streak. Sadly, Royal Mail decided we weren't worthy of a non-service day on Saturday, so I'm back in work for that one.

Im rejigging the workshop.

Had soundproofing put in and new lining paper for the walls prior to putting up strapping for boards. New work benches and now to decide what machinery goes where.

Also buying a new dust extractor and air cleaner. Should have had that sorted long back, but time now to get things right.

Just finished a week of updating local traders' newspaper ads - "Oooh could you just add a Union Jack on there please?" - despite aforementioned ads already being stuffed like a Wallaby's pouch after giving birth to triplets.
From this moment anyone saying Jehovah Jubilee will get stoned a stern look.
