Can be anything - bike or non-bike.
The coolest stuff I've picked up in the last year or so has to be:
- Tacx Flow 2200 turbo + PC TTS upgrade - Superbly well constructed plus excellent software for creating/tracking routes and stats etc.
- Shimano XC50N shoes - Really comfy and suitably waterproof for all but serious downpours.
- Meindl Burma walking boots - Cracking pair of boots that turn you into a Transformer.
- Paramo Aspira jacket - Awesome piece of kit for walking/running/biking in all but that absolute worst of conditions.
- Kindle Paperwhite - Didn't think I'd get on with it but TBH it's brilliant. Always thought the page turning e-ink flicker was a turn-off but it's actually not an issue.
- Spesh Hotwalk for SM jnr - Super little balance bike and really well made.
- Lenovo Ideapad Y580 - Seriously rapid laptop that handles everything thrown at it = well impressed.
Can't think of anything else right now.
What's on your list of cool stuff?
Burton Freebird split board & GoPro Hero3. Both still making me smile
3 alnico magnet high output single coils on my strat, made it sound like a new guitar, brilliant! And surprisingly cheap.
Nilox Foolish HD camera (go pro type thing) RRP is £200 with lcd back screen, waterproof cases, mounts and best of all an alignment lazer 😉
Burton Freebird split board
A splitboard is still currently top of my shopping list 🙂
Caravan
Olympus E-420 for my wife. Yes it's old in camera terms at least, but it's only three actual years old. It was in perfect condition, it's brilliant to handle and use because it's so small but perfectly formed, and she loves it 🙂 And it was only £120!
A Garmin Edge 500. Now I feel like a Pro, shame I can’t ride like one. But chuffed to bits with it.
This week...
GoPro Hero Black, Chest mount, spare batteries and spare 32Gb cards. 🙂
Troy Lee Beanie... It's cool when its on my head. 😉
I want that QuadCopter! and a Rockhopper Penguin! Or I might just sit and watch Farce of the Penguins.
this week,
carradice bike luggage
mayhem waterproof
schwalbe touring tyres
sks 700 x 65mm mudguards
The North Face Nimble Jacket - great lightweight jacket, wanted one for ages and picked it up as a bargain
Arcteryx Merino Beanie - fleecy round the ears but thin wool on top so its warm but not too hot
Both great bits of kit that I make look decidedly uncool when I put them on
ton - Memberthis week,
carradice bike luggage
Piccies, please....... 😀
I just bought a christmas hamper in Robert Dyas.

😆
Double chocholate cookie from sainsbury's. I win
[EDIT] darn just saw the hamper post, I lose!
Our new car. Can't wait to get out on some proper adventures with the mrs and tribe, with all the outdoor gear actually fitting in the back. Bikes/tents/scooters/picnics/bodyboards the works!!
I bought a Garmin 310XT. It's awesome.
Other than that, I've not bought much recently
Also a Sugoi Zap jacket in bright orange for commuting. Last commuting jacket I bought was a Nike for £15 off Ebay and it lasted a good 10 years. So hope this sexy number serves me as well.
(it was £10 off the price shown)
I bought a house.
This week- So far..
Ortleib Paniers
A Tubus Rack
Salsa Cowbells
Lizard Skins DSP Bar tape.
None of whichn is remotley cool, but all part of a plan. 8)
Tatonka Flight Case 1150 - The Perfect Carry-On Travel Bag?
Quite possibly the best non-wheeled carry on bag eva!
iphone 4s
camera tripod
HTN4 entry
Yamaha THR10
Fender Jap Strat used off ebay
Blimey, some nice kit mentioned already.
Quite fancy a GoPro 3 but heard too many bad experiences.
That a57 looks nice but can't justify the cost 🙁
bob, WTF is that furry alien werefly with technicolour wings?
Well not bought, exactly, but acquired (given):
A 2004 VW Polo SDI Twist.
Doesn't sound cool, I know, but I have driven a T4 for the last 8 years, and getting behind the wheel of an impeccable little run-around is a hell of a lot of fun.
7 x 5 Ping pong table
Ear plug kit that I used to make some customised ear phones and they are brilliant.
Blender!
Healthy eating made super easy and tasty.
I thought a good set of kitchen knifes was my best buy until I picked up the blender. I'm a convert. Thinking up all sorts of funky meals..
Recent splurge was a Samsung Galaxy Tab2, the mini version. Shiny. 🙂
Might buy a Brompton at the weekend.
MK808 Android Stick. Pretty damn awesome piece of kit. You can even use an xbox 360 controller on it 0_o.

Kenwood Chef!
Well it was 'for' Mrs.Knob officially.
With ice-cream maker attachment 🙂
[Norman Lovett]I walked to the Spar at the end of the road for a bottle of milk this morning. It was pretty cool out, so was the bottle of milk. [\Norman Lovett]
On the gadget front: an Oregon 550 which is ace!
Ticket to the viewing floor of the tallest building in Hong Kong, Sky 100, lift takes you up a 100 floors in one go in sixty seconds and the view, the view was something else!
If you ever lucky enough to visit Hong Kong, do it twice once during the day and once as the sun sets, you will not be disappointed 😉
Rab Generator vest - not sure why I bought it as I'm not a big fan of gilets, but sooooo glad i did. it's small, not big puffy down thing and wears easily under a cardy or jacket and it packs down into it's own pocket. toasty.

[/img]
2 first class train tickets from Milan to Paris for £75 (for both). Not bought yet but will be soon - 2 tickets on the Bernina Express

Maddie, a 5 yo slightly mental border collie - no pics.
bit sad, but one of these
[img]

Karcher dont even advertise it as capable of doing your car. I just have and it's brilliant. I guess they want to get you to spend much more than the £80 that this one cost. Bloody ace, and even gets Herefordshire Clag-o-gunk off.
also one of these. Smaller than my normal saw for lighter work in the coppice. A bargin for £150.

2x tickets to the Italian f1 GP. 🙂

I'm turning all STW.......... 😳
Some mini eggs
Bencooper, that is the coolest thing on this thread 😉
@franksinatra - I always wonder how much time they spend getting exactly the right pieces of wood/logs for the marketing shots.. mine nver looks like that, generally just a tatty mess of bark bits and ash! just in time for spring eh?
just in time for spring eh?
Yep. Can guarentee that the warm weather will arrive on 11 March this year, they day our stove is fitted. We will then have a nice stove sat unused for 6 months or so until winter comes round again. 🙄
Good woork McMooter. I'm sure lots of fellow STWers were, like me, geting a bit concerned that you may have been running low on firewood......
One of these, The wife insisted that whatever I bought you had to be able to just put a cd in and play it if you wanted to. I'ts pretty good, a lot better than the Brennan as it's got a web interface for editing and it's got internet radio. It will also stream to Sonos units or you can use more of these without a hard drive.
