You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Done most of our Christmas shopping and work:life balance just took a good nudge in the correct direction 🙂
barreled 28 casks of lovely beer at work, and pulled down a plaster lath ceiling at home. all bagged up and put outside, swept and hoovered. now enjoying a pint...or 3...
Finally properly bled front brake. Shame about the fluid I got on the pads, mind. Score draw.
Seeing as "today" in the title was yesterday, I helped build a bridge over a ditch on a nature reserve in Yorkshire.
But today "today" I did Christmas shopping with the missis (points in the bag)
Did approx 35 miles on the Chase today which is not too shabby considering its only 26 sq miles. Did all the official trails - some bits twice - and some off piste all linked together in a super flowy kind of way it all just fell into place. Great conditions for the time of year just really happy to be out there enjoying it.
Fuel pump on the missus' car. It stopped on her on the way back from walking the dog. 100 quid for the pump 🙁 about an hour or so to fit it.
Tartiflette
Just back from a meal with a couple of people whose family regularly appears on those 'Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' programmes.
I also made a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cake.
It was delicious.
sent out a 10,000 word proposal for €1m project that we have no chance of winning...
Spent all of my "free money" on some shoes for er indoors.
Now on strict rations of petrol&baccy till the end of the month!
Today I achieved f*** all.
However tomorrows a different day 😉
Spent a fair chunk of the afternoon writing up outcomes that nobody'll act on and notes that nobody will read from a pointless meeting about nothing. So that was satisfying.
Today I finished off a table I was making out of an Oak-block worktop,,,

managed to screw my head up.
Shouted at some useless project managers, got in a paddy and stumped off like a teenager. Pretty constructive stuff.
Sandwich wins.
Got myself sorted out as the only Botox provider in Morpeth, added a clinic at a beauty salon in Northumberland Park, meeting with a guy setting up a new business doing mens accessories that I may be investing in, sorted out two nights out for the guys and gals at work. Interesting meeting with a guy that owns his own bowling alley.
Not bad for a day off.....
Sweet FA. Man, I'm feeling down. 🙁
But good on all of you who managed to do something! Especially tymbian's table.
Contemplating baking some individual treacle & pecan tarts at the mo' but I may leave it until tomorrow looking at the time.
100
Made the 100th post on this thread
I resigned after 6 weeks in a new job!!!

Manged to Pee off a load of civil servants in central Government.Which is quite satisfying
MrsT does that occasionally 😀
Today I decided to have a bit of a life spring clean early. Managed to upset works occ health by informing them I will not be attending my first aid refresher after 20 odd years being a first aider. This in turn solved an issue for my FLM who had to find cover from somewhere to cover the 2 days I would have been absent!
Today I continued with my "familiarisation/training" for next years de-manning exercise . If not one of the chosen 10(from 15) I stand to lose £7k = nae new bike/s for the foreseeable future 🙄
FA. Just like every other day in my life and every one to come.
ononeorange, are you feeling a bit down?
I achieved failure on "only going out for one pint". 😆
(my code has saved me from 2 weeks of tedium, I deserve it)
Yep. Thanks for asking, Neil - appreciated.
Just feeling like I do a pointless job and rather insignificant compared to the above.
Will be right after some sleep. Cheers again.
A) scored a pile of quality windsurf kit on eBay.
B) got divorced when the wife finds out.
You see today me and my boy walked the dog, went to the woods, threw stones and sticks, went to the builders merchant, played with trains, played with tractors, had a nap, walked the dog again, went for coffee and cake, made dinner.
Much more satisfying.
ononeorange...if it's a job you get paid and if someone pays you it ain't worthless.
I'm assuming you don't do this...?

Did absolutely sod all, which was the plan I hatched as soon as I woke up. In my defence I do have a particularly nasty case of manful.
Made £123.70p busking for 3 hours with my Mum for children in need, although I was more the help and her the artist. Still, an afternoon well spent cheering up the locals and raising money for charity. 😀
I produced a graph that will hopefully secure a large investment to prove that a new drug I've worked on for seven years might become a new medicine for a nasty disease.
Not a lot at the moment. Possibly something quite significant when we find out in a month or two. Actually my involvement more or less finished yesterday, but that's when the thread started anyway.
Stuck up some racks in the bike shop to hang the multitude of wheels that usually lay against the walls, built up a Lapierre Audacio 300 road bike for a customer, treated myself to a pair of Castelli Sorpasso bib tights for winter riding (customer ordered the wrong size - but they so happen to fit me like a glove so i'm keeping them), priced up a multitude of Galfer brake pads,, sorted out a Jungle account so we can supply KS Lev seaaposts (the best! - what i use), fitted a new 750gb SSD to my macbook, finally got my mobile number ported over to my new 64gb iphone 5s, made a very nice ginger n' garlic/chilli/coriander strir fry for tea, installed an update for my Native Instruments music software that has went tit's up (as expected though 😥 ), drank some very nice glenfiddich solera malt whisky, thought about some new ideas for choccy products that i'll explore next week, and now just dicking about online before i pass out.
Pretty much a fine day all told..........
Blimey Neil, that's not me and it did make me feel slightly more useful!!
Cheers! Feel better today ( despite being out now with a flat and no tools - it's a long walk back d'oh!).
After going under the surgeons knife yesterday, getting out of bed was an achievement today... a painful and slightly dizzy one. 😯
chumped some firewood and made a new parking space for a trailer, and as usual drank too much expresso!
Introduced a group of 8 fairly novice riders all U21 to Marin and Penmachno trails and definitely got over 1/2 of them hooked...weather has helped 😉
Coughed up some phlegm, I may yet survive this man flu...
Managed to install MS Desktop Bing after procrastinating it for a while. PC got a bit weird today so managed to install Fixit for update. Think I have stabilised my PC now after few BSODs.
But I am still unable to install IE11 ... hmmhhmm ...
sweet FA 🙁
Not a bad day today: glued a door handle back on the wardrobe, finished the guttering on the workshop, fitted a new chainring and a chain device to the HT and got the wife to cut my hair!
Stuck the winter tyres on the van.
Managed to go riding today and arrived at the woods to find that I hadn't actually put the front brake pads into my rucksack as I had originally thought.
Still went riding and managed not to die without any front brake whatsoever 🙂
The Drogo Ten....cross country run. Roast after. Much needed.
Real Ale Wobble, then home to plant about 300 flower bulbs around the garden, then I dug the potato plot. And then I had a bathe and fell asleep in it.
Started the build on my Lynskey, failed to find a new Racing Ralph that's hiding in my man cave & took my eldest son to the greatest cyclo cross race in the world.... 🙂 🙂
1st ride today in over 7 weeks. Just a (not so) quick hour but it felt good.
cooked egg n Bacon for breakfast 🙂
Made a beef curry for tea 🙂
Painted the bedroom 🙂
Ran out of time to get the BFe out 🙁
