Seem to have pulled a muscle in my neck during my slumber couple of nights ago,
A trapped/pinched nerve seems unlikely due to me been able to move my head somewhat freely,
When I try to tilt my head back and to the right I'm limited to how far i can before it hurts,
occasionally, without warning I get a sudden shooting pain where my neck meets my shoulder but its only on the neck.

Will my head fall off?
I guess it's best not to aggregate it for a few days?!

A proper sports massage? That's money right?

Aye, but money well spent if it works. I've had great results from sports massage for neck/shoulder pain. The treatment itself hurts, a lot, but within a couple of days things settle down again.

Edit: inevitably in true STW style, someone will be along soon to rubbish sports massage

I had this at college and got a sports massage and it worked really well. Loosened my neck so that it got better quickly.

On the other hand last year I did my lower back in and saw a masseur who comes to work each week. She made it a hell of a lot worse, so much so I was on opiates for a few weeks for the pain (putting elbows in base of back muscles).

So get a decent *sports* masseur and it should be good.

I'd say not at all.

Sandblast it, if you must.

aggregate it

Are you a ventriloquist or is the pain making you clench your teeth?

Be careful with the sports massage - I think the qualifications are a lot less to do massage than to be an osteopath or physio, and so I would only go to one that is strongly recommended by someone you know.
