Saw Randall on Saturday. Was ace.
Maddy Prior, Dec 3rd St Andrews Church Grinton.
I saw FOTN on the Moonchild tour - well good. Not sure what they're like without the original members. Would still like to see McCoy's band but London is too far for me
me too, got all my vinyl signed too (incl the green vinyl version of the Gehenna EP). Still got them in the wardrobe.
Only gig I have booked is Andy Fairweather Low in Buxton next weekend, saw him recently at Hayfest and was knocked out by how good their "cut-down" set was so really looking forward to the full thing

Went to see Alex Clare on Sunday, what an incredible live singer! sounds exactly like he does on the album@choclolate he played his only UK gig on MONDAY at Shepards Bush
I assure you that wasn't his only UK gig, he was in The Ritz in Manchester on 09/11 (SUNDAY) 🙂
Being a busy morning. Booked tickets for Dr Feelgood at my local pub! Slow club in Manchester and The Staves at the Sage Gateshead. Also got tickets for First Aid Kit in Manchester. 🙂
Non of your "cool" bands above for me.
I've got December tickets for Madness, I was a massive fan in my teens but this will be the first time seeing them live.
I can't wait #Sorry
I don't even like Madness, but they were great live when I saw them
John Grant at Liverpool Philharmonic in a couple of weeks.
Kate Tempest at Kasimir in Liverpool, Feb.
I strongly suspect my anniversary pressie tomorrow will be DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist 'Poets of Rhythm' tickets for next Feb in Manchester.
Ariana Grande at Bankrupt Arena, Manchester! <high-pitched scream> </high-pitched scream>
Fortunately it's my wife who gets tasked with enjoying that one.

Madness are awesome live, you'll love it. Saw them at some London festival in the 90s along with Ian Dury and the Blockheads and the Buzzcocks. Sadly the missus had a panic attack in the crowds halfway through 'House of Fun' and we had to beat a hasty retreat.
Lamb at Les Docks in Lausanne this Friday, can't wait!
Got a few booked I'm pleased to say..... Love stuff to look forward to...
Ryan Adams in Leeds
Ben Howard at the Arena, Newcastle
Belle & Sebastian in Newcastle
and of course Top Gear Live with my little boy 🙂
Fish, in Bristol Next month, looking forward to this one, really enjoying Feast of Consequenses.
Hopefully Anathema playing an acoustic gig in Winchester Catherdral next year, as long as Santa does his bit with the tickets 😉
Last week was Rise against in Mancunia, and Lionize in Liverpool
Mastodon next week in Manchester
then Slash in the Arena
Then Machine Head just before chrimble
I fear I may be out of step with current forum enthusiasms. 😆
Mastodon in Newcastle for me.
I might have to get to a Lee Scratch Perry gig, could be interesting and I also thought he'd died 🙄
James and Embrace this month 🙂
so Jack White was last night at the hydro, was no bad, first half wasn't great I thought, trying to do the early white stripes stuff with a full band is just wrong if you ask me! it picked up just before the interval as he started to do later Stripes stuff and a few raconteurs choons. Overall, alright, but i much prefer the white stripes(QMU gig in 2001 is still on of my favourite gigs).
Essentially, the bold Jack has been given too many toys to play with i reckon, he should strip it back down! 🙂
Incidently btw, what is it with crowds not demanding an encore? I was just getting really into it towards the end as was the band, I thought they were gearing up for one. But nothing from the crowd looking for one, guess we can put that down to a mid week gig..
Just bought my tickets for Foo Fighters in May. Well pleased
Me too John! Manchester?
Although you do realise that they're over rated dad rock? 😉
The Who at the O2 in december
Machine Head at the Bristol O2 10th December 😈
Saw Bob Mould at Oran Mor on Saturday night; fabulous. Been a fan since his Husker Du days, and really enjoy his solo stuff too (taking in Sugar along the way). Sold-out crowd, epic setlist and boy was it loud!
Managed to get some very last minute tickets, so I'm of to the Royal Albert Hall tonight to see James on the Petit mort tour. Should be good seeing as I've already seen them twice in the last 10 days!
yes, Manchester. much as I'd prefer to see them on the right side of the hill, it's nearer than Sunderland* 😉
Dad Rock? Overrated? i seem to remember something of that ilk being mentioned on here 🙂
I like 'em, never seen them live in the flesh (on telly, yes) so when an opportunity to do so arises, that doesn't involve seemingly-impossible-to-buy festival tickets, then yeah, why not?
* I'm still smarting about the 1973 FA Cup Final 😉

He was on LaLa's show on 6 Music this morning, and he was brilliant. Just him with his guitar, and what a lovely bloke when interviewed, too.
Bloody annoyed with myself for missing out on his Bristol gig, I knew about it, but was a bit committed cash-wise, then it sold out. Bugger. 👿
Going to watch gruff Rhys do his American interior gig again, it was ****ing brilliant last time
Now have tix for
Slipknot in Liverpool
Foo fighters at Old trafford Cricket ground
RIDE - may 2015 in Amsterdam...........hurrah.
Now got (all in bloody MARCH next year!)
NME Awards tour - Amazing Snakeheads, Fat White Family & Parma Violets (Portsmouth)
Underworld! - dubnobasswithmyheadman (Brighton Dome)
Gonna be a good month!
Underworld @ Hammersmith

Considering Inspiral Carpets @ Shepherds Bush but it's a busy time of year for me.
Got some tickets to go and see some Dad Rock in Edinburgh next year!
My Mrs loves a certain Mr Grohl.
Maybeshewill at the Joiners in Southampton in a couple of weeks
ArcTanGent festival 2015...
Oh, and The Wurzels at Clevedon community centre in March 😉
Joe Bonamassa @ Hammersmith (Odeon) Apollo March
Eric Clapton @ Royal Albert Hall, May
Fleetwood Mac @ O2, June
Ah the joiners. Best thing I've see there was a guy dressed as a shark crowd surfing on a lilo while Municipal Waste blasted through 'Terror Shark'.
Foo Fighters at Wembley 🙂
A Review Of Last Night: John McLaughlin's 4th Dimension at the RFH.
One of life's great pleasures and priveleges is to witness a shit-hot band of musicians playing at the absolute top of their game. A rare treat, all the more intense for that.
Basically. 8)
The Wurzels at Clevedon community centre in March
You needed tickets?? 😆
Foo Fighters at Wembley
I tried at 10 this morning for the Saturday gig without any joy. Within 10 minunites the only tickets available are for Friday up in the Gods. I'll have to see what becomes available later... hopefully
Carter USM's Final ever gig tomorrow.
They were my first ever gig at 13. Look forward to one last time to rock out to them live.

Just to rub it in, I managed to get Saturday standing tickets 🙂
I had 4 separate ticket sites open and managed to get them through SeeTickets (spit), the others just timed out over and over.
Within 10 minunites the only tickets available.....
Blame those damn Android fanbois 🙂

Carter tomorrow - Standing
Cure on the 21st December
Hadn't been to a gig for ages. But now enjoying being single and getting out a bit.
Saw Tim Wheeler in Manchester Deaf Institute a couple of weeks ago.
The Jesus and Mary Chain at the Academy last night, brilliant gig, ears are still bleeding. Unfortunately missed Amazing Snakeheads as baby sitter (ex-wife) was delayed.
Alvvays at the Deaf Institute in Jan.
Got the bug again, need more gigs. I am a 6Music living breathing cliche.
Squarepusher @ Barbican now as well. Not your usual gig either.
Carter usm. Tomorrow.
Saw Damon Albarn last week at the Royal Albert Hall - a beautiful experience!
Next month:
- The Who in Birmingham (33yrs after I last saw them)
- (from) The Jam in Gloucester
and Texas next April apparently
I wanted to see Jon Hopkins and Ulrich Schnauss but both fall on days when I have my daughter staying. Ah well, I've seen them both before so perhaps this is a sign to branch out and see someone new in 2015.
The Cure at Hammersmith next month
First Aid Kit at Brightin Dome in Jan, or might be Feb
And should probably get Underworld tickets too
Crowds not looking for an encore at midweek gigs? You should've been at The Temperance Movement on Monday night at Manchester Ritz, the crowd sang, stamped and clapped like lunatics for an encore and the band were really chuffed!
The Whisky Sessions this weekend- I am Kloot, British Sea Power, Tim Burgess, Turin Brakes and Gomez. Star lighter next weekend, Elbow lots of times in Feb, Clean Bandit, Ben Howard, Nick Mulvey.
I've just bought 4 tickets to see Nils Frahm at Camden Roundhouse in May. I'm quite tempted by Go Go Penguin at Koko as well.
Slowdive at Forum on Saturday. Jesus and Mary Chain and Ride in the new year.
I appear to be stuck in the early 90's!
The Wonder Stuff. This evening in brum
Depressingly the only thing I have lined up for 2015 is Ed Sheeran at wembley, bought for the gf's xmas present!
I've had an alright year for gigs though - Protest the Hero, Clutch, Reading festival and Mastodon.
A bit of an update, the Gemma Hayes gig was postponed after she was carted off to hospital the day of the gig, while we were in London, and only found out when we got to the venue.
The upside is that we get to go back to The Oslo again on the 17th of January, and eat excellent food and drink excellent beer!
I've now got tickets for the Paper Aeroplanes next May, which I'm pleased about, I really love them, and I'm going to my first festival since 1995 next year!
I've got tickets for the Isle of Wight Festival, which should be a lot of fun. Headliners so far are Fleetwood Mac, (yay!), Black Keys, The Prodigy, and First Aid Kit have also been confirmed.
Great thing is I can leave my car with family at Fairham, and they'll take me down to the ferry, which will only cost me around £16, instead of £160 or so to take the car over.
Angus and Julia Stone the other evening were a revelation, not what I was expecting at all, as I only have their first album and that's fairly quiet and folky.
What I got was a crammed venue, and a band that really rocked, they were outstanding, really very good indeed, and I'm so glad I got tickets because of the Staves.
Who were also superb, but they always are.
Kate Rusby last night was also superb at The Forum in Bath, everyone seemed to have a great time.
Went to Ginger Wildhearts birthday bash gig at The Forum in London last night.
Hectic evening and a great gig, but getting too old for this jumping around lark...
