You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I know this has been done before but I can't find the old thread so let's have a new one. What gigs have you got lined up?
I'm thinking UNKLE at Somerset house in July and if I can stomach the ticket price Radiohead at the Roundhouse in Camden. On Good Friday I'll be in Camden for Underworld which should feature a large amount of dad dancing.
It would have been Glastonbury as I have a ticket although my mother in law has arranged a family weekend away for that weekend (despite my telling her it was a weekend I couldn't do) so I now can't go 🙁
Tindersticks at Warwick Arts Centre next month.
Weezer at Brixton Academy
Long Ryders in May.
Best mate has new band. They're pretty ace.
On UK tour just now.. Brizzle tonight. But I'll see them on Sunday on Glasgow.
Kraftwerk 3D - Autobahn, Oslo, August.
Flag, 2 nights in london.
sean voorhees's 50 birthday all day bash at the temple of boom in leeds on easter weekend.
hopeful that drive like jehu and soul side will do an intimate manchester gig when the relocated ATP fiasco inevitably falls apart completely too...
Black Sabath, got tickets for Sydney and Melbourne.
Bingley festival
The Cure at MEN Arena in November
That's it at the moment, although in the last 6 months I've seen The Sisters Of Mercy, New Model Army, Killing Joke, The Cult.
And Ellie Goulding 😯
Frightened Rabbit and Teleman next month, yay .
Got Yak and Coeur de Pirate coming up as well as Saturday at Common People in Southampton.
Saw Black Honey last night at the Joiners amazing live
Muse in Glasgow, with a mix of anticipation and dread 😆 If it's as good as they used to be, it'll be worth the mental entry fee but frankly I doubt it will.
after a 'wonder what happened to..' moment, found that Graham Parker is playing in the local hall so off to that.
wwaswas is that at Concord 2? I've got tickets for that and The Icicle Works the following evening at Komedia. For a couple of days in May I'm going to be 20 not 50 🙂
Municipal Waste in London in June
\m/
Bruce Springsteen at Madison Square Garden a week on Monday, re-scheduled show from January. Was hoping to see a gig in NYC when we booked the dates but never expected to see the Boss.
Had to break my "don't buy from a tout/re-seller" rule to get a ticket but it'll be worth it.
Paul Heaton tomorrow night Newcastle.
James in May, Manchester.
Steel Panther in October 8)
Impractical Jokers live!
And the Electric Frog festival in May

That will be brilliant. I saw REM at MSG back in 2001 and it was fantastically surreal
Up until Saturday just gone, I had been looking forward to The Coral at MCR Albert Hall. It was worth the wait, a truly to gig! My daughter-to-be enjoyed it too as Mrs K said she was kicking away throughout, unless she wanted them to sit up!
Looking forward to King Gizzard in Sept now, keeping fingers crossed White Denim come back soon. Noel Gallagher in Lytham in August.
Kendal Calling great festival in July
@ Steveoath
Best mate has new band. They're pretty ace. Brizzle tonight. But I'll see them on Sunday on Glasgow.
Ha, I just got back from this. Dialects were very good, Polymath were pure unadulterated win. Guess I'm looking forward to ArcTanGent festival now.
Mike Peters Brewery Arts Centre Kendal!! Kendal calling never again ,robbed and smashed kids everywhere has put me off festivals for life!!!
Went to see Half Man Half Biscuit in Holmfirth last Sat.
Been to see Frankie Boyle in Bradford this evening.
New Model Army in Holmfirth in May.
PiL in Holmfirth in June.
It would have been Glastonbury as I have a ticket although my mother in law has arranged a family weekend away for that weekend (despite my telling her it was a weekend I couldn't do) so I now can't go
Bugger that! I'd either tell her it's non-negotiable, the ticket has already been bought, or if she insists tell her she has to refund you the money because you refuse to be left out of pocket by her intransigence.
Anyway, what have I got in the future...
Well, I'm going after a Radiohead ticket, my usual gig-going mate isn't interested so I'll go on me todd and make a weekend of it, finding somewhere on Airbnb and catching the train up.
I've just had my tickets arrive for Ladyhawke in June at the Thekla in Bristol, I've got Besnard Lakes on the 31st at The Fleece in Bristol, Lush on the 7 May at the Roundhouse, Television on the 6 June at the Anson Rooms Bristol and Belly on the 20 July at the O2 Academy in Bristol, which is the day before my birthday, so it's a nice birthday pressy for myself having not seen them for twenty years!
Same with Lush, really rather excited about both of those gigs, Lush have new material coming, and Belly are recording new stuff, Tanya is just putting out a compilation of solo EP's, the last she's going to record, meanwhile concentrating on Belly for the foreseeable.
I'm considering getting a ticket for Larmer Tree festival this year, it looks like an interesting line-up, better than Green Man, and IoW Festival which I went to last year.
Shaping up to be a good year for gigs.
Half Man Half Biscuit, Southampton, May.
Steel Panther, Birmingham, October.
Terrorvision, Southampton, November.
Just come out of our usual Autumn/Winter gig frenzy so started booking for later in the year.
avdave2 - it is.
I'm going with my son [who *is* 20 not 50, the git 😉 ] maybe we could meet up?
Blue Dot festival at Jodrell Bank in July. Science geekery and dance music!
The Cat Empire in Edinburgh next month. Using it as an excuse to ride Berwick-Edinburgh and back. Trying not to look forward to that more.
Bugger that! I'd either tell her it's non-negotiable, the ticket has already been bought, or if she insists tell her she has to refund you the money because you refuse to be left out of pocket by her intransigence.
Unfortunately it is a surprise party (well a weekend in a big house in the Lakes – at least I am getting to have a day in a trail centre with all the nephews and nieces) for my wife's 40th and my father-in-law's 70th with my wife's brothers and families flying in from LA and Melbourne for it (hence the date having to be a compromise unfortunately). If I don't go I don't think I'd have a wife any more...
See you there wwaswas, I don't think I've ever knowingly met anyone from the forum.
I can't imagine at 20 having gone to a gig with my dad; it seems completely normal now.
Ouse Valley Singles Club tonight (weather permitting)
Springsteen Dublin and Coventry
Going to see the 3 Degrees on Sunday but not looking forward to it!
I AM looking forward to Richard Dawson at the HB Trades on April 10th tho
Chris Cornell at the beginning of May. Puscifer at the end of May. May is a good month.
Skipinnish, Manran and Trail West in Oban next month. Charity gig so good tunes and good causes.
john_drummerThat's it at the moment, although in the last 6 months I've seen The Sisters Of Mercy, New Model Army, Killing Joke, The Cult.
Blimey, didn't realise this lot were still doing the rounds. IIRC last time I saw the Cult was on the Sonic Temple tour.
Hopefully seeing AC/DC in June if Mr Johnson is allowed to perform
Looking forward to Shellac of North America in Cardiff and Explosions in the Sky in Bristol, picked up tickets for Sigor Ross this morning to! 😉
Hopefully seeing AC/DC in June if Mr Johnson is allowed to perform
I thought he was told he could never tour again?
Placebo in October - 20th anniversary tour 😛
Kiran Leonard
Nada Surf
We Are Scientists
Sunflower Bean
Springsteen's River shows at Manchester, Coventry & Wembley.
Would have liked to have seen Van the man @ Glastonbury Abbey, but away on holiday.
😥
Biffy at Bellahouston Park \o/

Under those circumstances, I think you get a pass! I'd be pretty gutted, having managed to actually get a ticket, but needs must.
Missed out on the Radiohead tickets this morning, sadly, they'd all gone in less than five minutes, on the Roundhouse booking office, at five past nine I was number 15,650-odd in the queue.... 😯
I might try for either Sigur Rós or Last Shadow Puppets in Bristol, both are rather appealing.
Forgot I've also got tickets for Dar Williams at the Lantern, Colston Hall as well.
The Beat in Southampton in April.
Adam and the Ants in Portsmouth in May.
Saw Snuff last month courtesy of a mate who bought us all tickets. Was ace! Proper old skool punk with plenty of humour
Poss Ozric Tentacles on Sunday!
Puscifer's first ever UK gig at the roundhouse a the day the twins are due, even my wife wants to go, assuming they babies arrive early !
Primal Scream in Manchester in a couple of weeks.
Last week we saw The Stranglers, supported by The Alarm, somehow that was the first time I'd seen The Alarm.
Bustaspoke what did you think of The Alarms set ? The Alarm fans seem to be enjoying it and they say quite a lot of Stranglers fans are enjoying them!!
Placebo in December.
Good call on shellac scratch. I too am now looking forward to that. A couple of others first though starting with monster magnet's annual Camden gig tomorrow.
Elvis Costello, playing in Paris in May. Been seeing him live since the late '70's
Saw a young and very talented 19yr old lad playing in a bar tonight, happy days
Smiththemainman,The Alarm were great,I don't know if a lot of people were Alarm fans going specifically to see them,or if they were Stranglers fans who also like The Alarm but they went down well & Mike Peters was enjoying it.
This was in Liverpool last week so it's the nearest gig to home for them, maybe that's why so many Alarm fans were there?
Glad you enjoyed it Bustaspoke Mike is playing the Cavern club solo in May ,saw him there last year it was one of my favourite gigs ever!!
Ynot festival for us lot again this year. Beans on toast is back and the lad is quality. Obviously a fair few others within a cracking line up this year.
Hardfloor, banging beats in Peckham next month.
Dread zone in a couple of weeks at my local pub/venue.
What ever is on there tonight when I pop down.
Janes addiction are touring in a couple of months and was planning to get a ticket or two.... Depending on price that is.
@tang: Would quite like to go see the Ozrics again... Was just listening to some old stuff the other day.
Placebo in December at Leeds
Richard Dawson was a "force of nature" on Sunday at the Trades. Unbelievable artist.
Gregory Porter, tonight, Perth.
Well, since my last post, there was an announcement a week or so ago from Lush that they would be playing a warm-up at Oslo in Hackney, for which I immediately grabbed a pair of tickets, and the gig was last night.
And it was bloody brilliant! First live gig in twenty years, Miki was bricking it on Sunday, apparently, but you could see them really getting into it as the evening went on.
Roll on the Roundhouse gig on May 7th!
Next one after that will be Television on June 6th in Bristol, Ladyhawke on June 10th at Thekla in Bristol, then another recent addition, Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle on June 15th at the Union Chapel, which should be a blinder.
Then Belly in July.
As an aside, there were a couple of women chatting to people at the bar in Oslo, who then came and sat next to me and my mate, one looked vaguely familiar, but I couldn't place her. When she went to get drinks, her friend asked if we were there for Lush, and asked if we liked Curve and Echobelly, to which we replied absolutely! At which point the other woman came back and said, 'oh come on, you're not doing that again are you?'; turns out she was Debbie Smith, ex-bass player for Curve and Echobelly, both of whom we'd seen several times, so no wonder she looked familiar!
Hobnobbing with the stars! 😉
Two more booked - another Terrorvision, this time in Reading (Sub 89), August, and Metal Church (not my choice) in Camden, May 10th.
I'm looking forward to...
- The Stone Roses in Manchester in June
- Cast in Brum on Saturday
- The Stairs in Brum in July
- James in Brum in May
Wish Steve Mason was playing somewhere near though!
Looking back rather than forwards but on impulse went to Manchester at the weekend for the Dust Junkys- blimmin brilliant, totally worth it.
Dust Junkys? I though Nicky was dead!
I saw Moderat last weekend. Amazing.
Next weekend I have something a little more cultured - Craig Evans and the London Philharmonic at Brighton Dome. I love classical geetar. 🙂

Iron Maidens this Thursday at the O2 Islington followed by Tigertailz at the Underworld on Friday
Then D-A-D in a couple of weeks 😀
Back of my ticket for Saturday -
"Latecomers will not be admitted... Customers who cause unreasonable disturbance will be asked to leave... mobile phones must be switched off when entering the auditorium... photography, video and sound recording are strictly prohibited..."
Shit, I should go to classical stuff more often, seems like you actually get to enjoy the music!!!
DezB - MemberDust Junkys? I though Nicky was dead!
He's in pretty good shape, considering 😆
Super Furry Animals in Newcastle in a few weeks 😉
ACDC in Vienna in May.
