Following last years claim Aviva have said that the garage needs to have an alarm to be covered.
It needs to cover 2 zones - garage bit and home office bit, wireless and have a key fob. I'm not certain I'm that bothered about text alerts, as I leave my phone downstairs at night.
Yale EF-SKIT Easy Fit Alarm Starter Kit are £70 on eBay - worth looking at?
We have something similar: https://www.yalestore.co.uk/hsa-essentials-alarm-kit.html
I think it ended up being £100 off Amazon. Not fitted it yet so not very helpful, but a mate who fits lots of alarms recommended as the best ‘non smart’ kit. The shed is split into two halves and has two doors. But will only fit door alarm to the one that faces the drive.
I've got one of the Yale HSA kits mentioned above which I think is the same as the EF-SKIT version but with more sensors and a keypad rather than keyfob. Easy to install and has worked fine, although thankfully not had to test it!
Sounds a very similar arrangement.
It might be worth checking with AVIVA if it must be an SSAIB alarm. If so your local contractor can be found here https://ssaib.org/security-provider-search/
Bit of a thread resurrection, but the Yale kits mentioned at the start of this thread are back at £70 on eBay.
