I have tried Skyscanner and Kayak inevitably but are there any other decent ones?

Specifically for flights from Heathrow to Los Angeles.

Look on BA right now, they've got a pretty good sale on which has just been ramped up even more.

I booked flights to San Diego for £500 return from Glasgow via Heathrow, which is pretty impressive considering I got great flight times/layover.

Skyscanner has far more options than any other site I've tried. Some of which are quite bonkers actually.

Otheriwse, it's airlines direct or Expedia cos you get nectar points and the experience is quite good.

Sometimes worth looking at the websitess for each airport and seeing who actually does the route you are looking for, then going to their own websites. More and more do direct deals.

Amadeus.net is useful for some stuff, but I've not found much better than kayak for UK/US recently.
Do you need to go direct to LA? If there are offers on to Vegas perhaps? Just another direct fly destination in the same area.

Thanks for the feedback TooTall - we have found out who flies the route we want (and have shortlisted the ones we would prefer to fly with). Fortunately BA are the cheapest at the moment so we may just go with them.

We really want to fly direct for two reasons:

1 - we have two young children flying with us

2 - my brother-in-law and his family are insisting on flying direct (three young children) and I would prefer to fly with them as their kids will help keep our kids occupied 🙂

I have always found Trailfinders as cheap as online agents.

I've usually found BA to be good for transatlantic flights.

MF you might consider looking for daytime flights for flying with kids.. did I mention this before?

Yeah my wife has been speaking to them and one woman in particular has been very helpful. Their prices are competitive at the moment but just checking that I am not missing out on any deals - this jaunt is gonna cost enough as it is 🙁

Mol - yes you did thanks - I am leaving the plans/decisions on the best solution regarding our kids to my wife. Whatever she thinks is best I am happy with 🙂
