Any recommendations? Got 15 year old daughters dying to go to Glastonbury but is that the best choice?
I take it you'll be going too? We did camp bestival in Dorset a couple of years ago, great family festival, enjoyed by everyone from the toddlers to the teenagers (and the parents!!).
Glastonbury is probably the best choice if that's where they want to go.
No way for Glasto, it's HUGE!
There are plenty of smaller festivals, we took our 15yr old to Shambala (about 10,000 tickest I think), and to tell the truth that was a bit big for him.
It needs to be large enough that they can get away from the oldies, but if they can find you should they wish they'll be much more comfortable for all concerned.

Camp Bestival is very chilled and family-friendly.
Cheers - yes I would be going too (uncool dad content)
A festival with mum and dad?
When I was 15 I would want to go to the burning depths of hell before going to a festival with parents!
Dirty Leeds.
But in all honesty where abouts are you in the country?
wickerman, and go biking in local area instead of festivaling
Kendal Calling or Bearded Theory!!
Reading is famous for 3 things
Teenagers
ketamine
teenagers on ketamine
Leeds is similar, except they dont have so much ketamine so take to firebombing each other instead with half empty gas cannisters.
Glastonbury alone is off cos you need to be with an adult to enter. Assuming you are going too though then it's fine for a 15 year old. We've taken ours loads, that age and much younger. At that age they can bugger off by themselves while you enjoy yourself. Just set clear rules and a what to do if you get lost plan.
Just go where you want and take them is my 2p
Beautiful Days
Did Camp Bestival last year with a 13 y/o and 14 y/o. They enjoyed it. We didn't really because once they had buggered off we were left surrounded by families with young kids who were short on sleep and discipline.
Did the Wychwood festival the other week and went with another family, on the whole this was much better but it was a considerably smaller festival.
we started taking the kids to festivals so that they would have some experience of these things before they disappeared off to the big ones like Glastonbury, which inevitably they will want to do and I will be jealous of!
Not that I have any to go with, but Latitude was swarming with teenagers when I went a couple of years ago. It's a lovely spot and it's not even far from the coast if you want to leave the kids there for a bit and head off site for a few hours. It certainly had a more friendly atmosphere than any of the V festivals I ever went to.
