My mates son needs an external hard drive for his xbox1 as he’s used up the existing 1tb of storage and doesn’t want to delete any games from it, I’ve no idea what to look for (never owned a gaming system apart from a game boy back in the early 90s) so what should I buy him?, will a 2tb drive be enough and can any external drive be used?
cheers
In true spirit I'll just recommend what I have. A Buffalo Velocity in whatever size he can afford. It spins at 7200RPM and improves load times significantly over the internal drive (mines an original Xbox 1, not sure if the newer ones are improved). 2TB is probably good for maybe 40-50 games I'd say. AFAIK any external drive can be configured to work with it.
Cheers, after a bit of googling it appears that any drive will do as long as it has usb3.0, I dunno if he has any of the 4K Xbox games which take up 100GB of storage 😳 but it seems a 2tb drive should be enough for his needs and they are around £60 for a Seagate on Amazon
I use a Seagate 1tb USB3.0 drive, it was in Tesco for about £40 not long ago. It’s been faultless for nearly a year now.
