Need to back up my dvd's to media hard drive ...I used dvdfab before but it doesn't seem to want to work now ...any other recommendations ..?

DvdShrink was always good for me. Or Handbrake if you need to change the format.

Makemkv is, I think, what I use and it does the job a treat. Then handbrake if I need a different format.

Dvd fab is great. You probably only bought a time limited licence. Slightly annoying that you need a different licence for dvd and bluray. Still, it's a pretty good all in one option.
