I like pizza and jokes that aren't remotely funny.
Not really, like some others it was what I was looking at when I eventually signed up to STW after being an occasional lurker for years.
I had Stone Roses playing when we had to set up new user names after the big site rebuild following the hack.
I’ve never liked the username, at all actually, but still love the song.
I had an Orange P7. The prefix was just something (very) vaguely whimsical to make it unique.
Ian m banks reference.
In the other time I was kevonakona because I had a Kona.
Lack of imagination for me. I had a Santa Cruz Blur and I rode cross country.
I used to lust after a sofaking cycles hardtail
It’s my surname. But my first car was also called Red Dwarf.
There was a lister-hooded or something on here a long time ago who sort of stalked me for a while and reposted what is written. It was very odd.
I use to compete on the IFOCE.com tour and was given the nickname by my brother.
It's one of my favourite foods 😋
Identifying with the lyrics of Still D R E. Somewhat absurd for a middle aged white guy, but there you are.

You're not East Midlands based by any chance?
I’m not from around here.
Registered, I think, just after I’d emigrated
An uninteresting fact: At some point I was able to edit my profile, and now when I comment on FGF or another front page article, my username appears as Kendo.
Account name and display name are two different things. They're implemented inconsistently across the site because of course they are. Back before I stood down they were talking about labelling posts with "display name (account name)" or some such.
Half is my name but shortened and half is reference to my first, and most beloved, motor vehicle.
Is that Fiasco actually yours? That paint job makes a statement.
Yeah- “I didn’t do the top coat on the bottom half”!
Just can't, even after a few skills courses and hubby shouting instructions - 'pump'.
I'm one of only a handful of females on here, so I thought the name was less masculine.
My middle name... And what i was called when the guys on the shop floor (factory in the Welsh valleys) found out what my middle name was.
Some of these explanations are nothing like the reasons I thought for the names
Ie rudiboy I thought was a "rudeboy" ie dressed like a ska fan - sharp suit and hat
I have a big smile and used to like a certain brand of bike.
Now I'd be grumpy on one.
Tried several names and they were taken, so randomly hit the keyboard a couple of times and thought, that will do.
I'd probably change it if I could.
Erm...
Slow
Old
Identify as male.
Mine is a variation of an old school nickname. Ideally I’d like to drop the ‘the’ and ‘man’ now and just have it as muffin.
That I was too lazy to be bothered writing MonkeySpacePilot when I signed up, so abbreviated it.
1st biking trip to the alps with a mate, who'd decided (a bit tongue-in-cheek) to call himself "extreme Steve" and had made a little badge for his bike. Mine was a sort of response.
When @Lister and I weren’t blatting around the countryside in RedDwarf back in the early ‘90s, we’d take my mum’s Uno, which I’d tweaked slightly. We’d listen to music on the way which came out of grossly undersized 4” speakers that we’d drive to distortion playing Happy Mondays, Charlatans, Ned’s, Sugar , Therapy…
New Fast Automatic Daffodils did a track called Partial which the lyrics to which lister somehow mistook for “hot fiaaaattt!” during one particularly frought journey around the North East and it kinda stuck.
Mine comes from the fact that I ride on the beach way more often than I do in the mountains.
When I’m riding my bike, I’m as happy as a sandboy but unfortunately these days, not paid in beer!😀
I really have no idea
I used to be annabananna, a nickname over the years. Post hack I decided I needed some capitalisation and simplification.
Hangover from my days as a porn ⭐
Mine is not my name. It used to be longer but I got locked out of my email address so I started a new account here with a slightly shorter version of my username. Then I got locked out of that email account so I shortened it again. Same thing happened again so I just added "2" instead of making it shorter. It says that I'm crap at writing down passwords for throwaway email accounts.
That I lived in Bristol when I first signed up
When my son and I were running the Surrey Schoolboys Trials Club (motorbikes) website I needed a username and my son, knowing my prowess with dabbing when I was trials riding thought masterdabber was appropriate. In fairness, it was a particular skill that I had (and still use today). 🙂
When I registered I was a sound engineer sat at a mixing desk so seemed apt.
It's my Surname (Fee) followed by the first letter of my Christian name. So was my LAN id at work. Not a request for food.
I joined the FCA in Dublin (Army reserves) years back and they used to do role calls by surname followed by first letter of first name so I was "Fee D" which caused quite few chuckles and got me the nickname "Poxy" 🙂
How it occasionally ends up when it goes wrong in a particularly trademark dramatic style - and not born of a desire to finish a certain influential early 90's mtb legend.
I like titanium bikes (having just the two at the moment), and I have red hair.

?
I was at one time quite keen on mountain unicycling. It's supposed to be sort of a play on the 'four legs good' thing from Animal Farm.
Took the opportunity to change my name after The Great Hack. Chose the name from the Cadbury's chocolate finger advert. Have no idea why.
My name, extended post hack to reference my profession, as a random word makes me less identifiable right?
A reminder to be more careful around the lab mascot when working with the DNA crosslinker.
Mine says I have no imagination when it comes to thinking of usernames.
Every name I tried was taken and at the time, out of a fit of nostalgia for a period living in Brighton, I was listening to Fatboy Slim (The Rockafeller Skank).
Mine is basically the words to a song performed by a very drunken old fella trying to sing and play a tray with 2 spoons in a pub in Warrington in the late 90s. We'll never know what the hell he was trying to sing but the lads I used to work with started calling me it the next day
I get at least 2 emails or messages a day asking me if I can arrange for the sender to be an influencer of a shoe brand. If the brand ever want the insta/twitter handle I'm open to financial persuasion
Come on @nobbingsford, time to 'fess up... I've only been waiting, 🤔, years!!!
My name.
I'm the same on any forum too... so it started on Minifinty, and others.
I'm also a believer in not saying anything online I wouldn't say in person so it doesn't bother me
Back 20+ years ago I moved into a student house with 2 computer scientists, who immediately wired up the place into a LAN do we could all play unreal, grey spaghetti everywhere.
The server that managed the LAN and the broadband connection (this was all pre-wi fi) was called wonderland and we all took handles from characters in the book.
I thought 'Mad Hatter' was a bit try hard so just shortened it to Hatter, it's been my online handle ever since.
Mine was a vague reference to "Funky Monks" of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame. I think this is one of the few places I still have that username. I've moved on, so to speak...
Mine is from a house tune that I absolutely rinsed when I was DJing in the early 00’s. Played only last month. Chosen at the time for several forums etc and it has stuck ever since.
I used to be quick on a bike, particularly on anticlockwise tracks.
I am also a Scot, and it's a well known fact that Haggis are only fast in one direction.
I was told I was like my motor bike . Noisy
Another one here with no imagination. It's my surname.
The server that managed the LAN and the broadband connection (this was all pre-wi fi) was called wonderland and we all took handles from characters in the book.
Back in the old days of LAN over Coax we had a small network at work. The server was "Magic Roundabout" so you can imagine what the workstations were called.
Just an unimaginative abbreviation of my first name, which is Muhammadmitrichardavernontthew.
I think I was trying to find a user name for Ebay about 20 years ago and my real name had gone and I didn't want to be xyz_2 so I just picked the name of the then GF's large duck shaped teddy bear, who was called 'footflaps' as he had large orange feet...
I work with young people, and last millennium one young man was having a moment and said , f#ckoff von diesel.....von stuck.
Dally coz I own Dalmatians.
Boobs init. Seemed like a funny thing to do when I was 20. 25 years later not so!
Seriously unimaginative, and ‘Ally’ was already taken. Or, my parents wanted to be even more awkward with the spelling of my name and were ahead of the curve substituting number 1s for the letter Ls.
Believe whichever version you prefer.
I used to play lead guitar in rock/metal/punk bands. I used to have a Gibson Explorer and it was cool.
Soma - as in drug from Brave New World : Aldous Huxley, one of my fav books.
Soma - also name of a mates record label
Somafunk - as in I’m in a bit of a somafunk today, one of my Sunday afternoon sayings after an abusive Friday/Sat night clubbing session at SubClub, I’m in a somafunk running on serotonin fumes till my body and mind recover. .
What it says on the tin.
@eddiebaby How many sheds do you have?
Are you confusing Sir Edward Ross with Arthur "Two Sheds" Jackson?
Ah.........
Bugger.
Cat Power song:
Metal heart, you're not hiding
Metal heart, you're not worth a thing
Says it all really…
(I originally tried deathtoeveryone but for some reason that never registered…🤷🏻♀️)
Mine could be taken in one of two ways
1) I used to ride a fat bike (still miss it and hanker for another) and a love coffee
or if I don't ride enough
2) I am fat, bike and love coffee.
Both work for me at times 🙂
probably the 792nd username I picked after hundreds of bannings on bikemagic, started with something to do with selling some Mavic Ceramic Rim and then especially on 9/11,
I've worked on a lot of my own cars over the years and I always had trouble removing suspension drop links. It became a bit of a running joke which turned into the phrase "Dammit, I've been drop-linked again!"
Nothing to do with Cotic suspension unfortunately but I would love one.
I signed up for another forum and was riding a Ducati 748 at the time.
It says I chose a name related to the fact that used to ride a cheap and cheerful ,Green(ish) Giant XTC when I joined this forum.
Mine is more about what it doesn’t say
Back in the 90s i thought the brand nukeproof was a cool name for a component company so, when i started using bike forums, id use it as my username. Clearly somebody else thought the same and the brand was resurrected so i shortened my username...not sure why now
