[Closed] What does this behaviour say about me?

I'm chuckling typing this but maybe I shouldn't be.

If I drop something, I tell it (the dropped object) to eff off before I pick it up.

Does this indicate:

That I am not exhibiting a worrying behaviour - everybody does this.

That I am a very angry man.

I need to speak to my GP.

I am mostly pissed but am in denial.

My great uncle Walter wasn't all he seemed.

I have a vitamin deficiency.

I have Tourettes.

I need a new car.

Any thoughts?

I do it as well - and I shout " I don't want to talk to you" before I answer the phone

I do it as well – and I shout ” I don’t want to talk to you” before I answer the phone

I just don't answer - people eventually learn not to call me.

I’m afraid to say it but it means you need another cycle in your life a really expensive brand new cycle.

” I don’t want to talk to you” before I answer the phone

I tend to say "oh go away" when the landline rings, but then it's only the mother in law that uses that to call!!

I made Mrs. S laugh the other day as an incoming Teams call chimed through my desk speaker.

"oh **** off Colin" I shouted before picking up with "Mornin' Col' how are you today?"

Ha ha.

Not just you. Recently I got angry at spilled water once and shouted ‘oh will you all **** off’.

Evidently the part of me that was so angry was also cognisant of the molecular plurality of water.

I then found self in the third person to be laughing at The Myself* who had gotten so angry at ‘them‘.

(That's about as far down the rabbit hole as it went. The only substance-abuse involved was my being abused by H2O)

I made a mental note of my reaction in case of possible significance. What did that behaviour say about me? Dunno, ask -> *Myself

^ Could be Simon from The Inbetweeners.

Mrs. S has just revealed that when she drops something, she shouts "oh piss the piss off."

What a pair!

I kick off with random objects all the time, usually during some domestic disaster (spillage/accident) sometimes sober . Had a fight with my wheelie bin once, it got a right sorting out (I was quite pissed)

Is that the British 'pissed' or the American 'pissed'?

It is largely forgotten nowadays but a phone's ring is not saying "You must speak to the caller immediately".

It's original meaning was "excuse me, but someone would like to speak to you if you want to reciprocate".

I hardly ever answer my home phone and ignore a lot on my mobile. If it is important they'll call back or leave a message.

This. It really annoys me when I'm speaking to somebody at work, their phone rings and I get a "talk to the hand" while they pick up and start a conversation. I was here first you bastard! *

* pre-pandemic scenario obvs.

I also do the swearing. Not 100% sure if it's the dropped object I'm swearing at, the person who dropped it, the job that's not going well, or the working environment that contributing to it not going well.

Probably all of them, but the person is the common factor.

What about those times it takes 3 times to pick something up? Do you call it the C word?
I’ve recently realised its always 3 times because the first is the miss, the second you try quick without changing the method, then the third you go for a proper grab. (All this happens in a split second) and the C word reminds you to try the proper grab.

Whenever this happens to me I just walk away. No word, no see you're busy. If asked I just explain we were talking

I reserve the C word for when I trip over a molecule. You know the one: completely clear floor yet you stumble.

I make no attempt to catch the thing I’ve dropped.

It started when I noticed that I was more likely to flip the thing into oblivion than actually catch it, and now it’s deeply ingrained.

Its gone too far and It’s resulted in a few occasions where people think I’m weird as I watch it fall, even slowly.
