You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Other than bike parts, do you actually collect anything? I sometimes think i need to collect something or have a shelf with stuff on it or more than 3 prints on the wall in the man cave.
Scars mostly it seems 🙁
+1 for scars. I also tend to keep up to date with the output of writers and musicians I like, even without hearing the new stuff before buying it. A bit of a completist.
Hobbies.
You name it, I've probably done it. Albeit briefly.
Memories.
And photos I've taken of places I've been and have fond memories of.
Guide books to places I've been.
Pretty much it.
Memories...
Hedge porn.
Books and i got given some diecast aircraft models, which have since turned into quite a collection.
malt. beer mats.
Single malt and Connor brothers prints.
I used to have several collections of all sorts of things, Britains soldiers/animals, US Open golf ball markers and Adidas Trainers I got bored around 4.5 years ago and got rid of the lot.
Now I collect Schleich animlas with my step daughter and denim. Far too many pairs to wear.
I did buy some new golf clubs yesterday so will probably start picking up some memorabilia, already started looking on Ebay for markers.
Coloured glass, don’t know why but I love the stuff. Currently got my eye on a paperweight that looks like a nest with eggs in.
Dyfi enduro mugs missed out this tear 🙁
Really tacky magnets from places I've been to.
Junk. House is full of stuff I just don't throw out and probably don't need. Including bike stuff. Also bloody unaddressed junk mail which piles up until I finally chuck it out. I get more of that stuff now than I get email spam.
Largest collection is, sadly enough, seemingly Singletrack magazine; have every copy since (just checked) issue 17 in 2004.
Aside from that; woodturning and woodworking tools and more recently MIG welding and metalworking tools.
British comic annuals from the 70s/80s.
Warlord, Battle, Action, 2000AD, Starlord etc.
Pretty cheap hobby!
At the moment?
Surf boards.. I seem to get them given me to either try or keep “on loan”
🤪👏
Coal mining pay checks (lamp checks or pit checks).
Nothing 😕
Vinyl, though it's dropped off a lot since having kids. I still buy the occasional bit, but mostly just listen to it now!
Had fun cataloguing it all on Discogs a while back - quite surprised at how much some of it is worth now (and how little some of them are too).
Guitars and stringed instruments (kind of). I've got 13 guitars and another 7 or 8 stringed instruments (basses, mandos, ukes, etc.) At what point does it become a collection?
Nothing. Never been much of a collector. I do get obsessed with activity-oriented kit from time to time, but that always passes before I can actually do too much actual collecting.
I have been accused of collecting books, but the ones I have I actually read and use, so I am not sure that’s collecting.
Rubber biscuits..

All of which SaxonRider will recognise.
I don't cheat & buy any online though. They've all been brought back from North America by people.
I've always seemed to collect something since I was so high. Coins, first day covers, vintage cameras, comics, records and CDs, videos and dvds, books, retro bikes. Nothing at the moment though. In fact I seem to be on a decluttering phase, definitely getting rid of more stuff than i collect.
Dust. I'm not as active as I'd like to be.
Internet opinions.
Electronic music equipment (for which I have zero talent, a bit like bikes in that regard)
I'm interested in early bike history, so I collect bound volumes of bike magazines.
My collection of bound cycling magazines starts in 1879 and runs to 1948, So there's a whole wall of my study, not to mention boxes upon boxes in the attic.
I collect for the information rather than the condition of the book, so some are quite ratty looking, but most are in surprisingly good condition.
And what have I learned from all this?
That's there's nothing new in cycling. 🙂
Oh, and I have a "few" bikes. I don't collect them though, they just seem to accumulate....
Nothing any more. Keeps me out of the shops, which is great.
Injuries, both mental and physical. Tools, sports equipment, stuff from the middle isle of Lidl.
Few bits of Lego (currently working on amassing the Speed Champions stuff.
Interesting (to me) pens and pencils (up to about somewhere between 75 and 100 - don't want to add up what I've spent on those!).
Cookery books.
Bicycle related keychains. Was bought one for Christmas couple of years ago, then another for my birthday that year and since then I have a few different ones including a wooden one with my name and 50 engraved on it for 50th birthday. Simple inexpensive things if people are looking for presents for me 🙂
Chips on my shoulder.
Invoices for unscheduled vehicle repairs.
Zebedees .............dont really, it just popped into my head for some bizarre reason.
I have a drawer full of various USB type cables, not an intentional collection btw
Regrets.
I’ve had a few
Airguns......most have something wrong with them though.
Used gear inners. Gonna make something out of them one day. Just need someone to tell me how to solder them together or similar solution.
I collect zips
<div></div>
Invoices for unscheduled vehicle repairs.
Me too - wanna do swapsies?
I've got a "6spd Gearbox, clutch and dual mass flywheel" invoice in pristine unpaid condition that I'd like to swap for an "oil and filter change" receipt stamped 'paid with thanks' or WHY.

I’ve got a “6spd Gearbox, clutch and dual mass flywheel” invoice in pristine unpaid condition
We feel your pain... 🙂
Open university courses. Started about 10 years ago and have one degree (astronomy) and 3/4 way through a second degree. The beauty of the OU is tgat you can study any random course you want and it'll all contribute to their open degree. The degree isnt the end point for me, I just like studying.
Train tickets for journeys I have made. I have thousands going back to 1996.
Antique cufflinks. No reason . Just do
scars. Got a nice collection going on, especially on my shins. Added a new one a week ago when I accidentally stuck a piece of glass through my wrist.
Weeds in the garden.
Unexpected bills.
Midge bites this year.
I suppose I have a decent library. All books I've read and am likely to read again.
I used to get quite obsessive about collecting all sorts of stuff but I've reigned that in for my own good!
My missus collects bloodycushions ,dust gathering ornaments ,shoes & clothes so I'm limited to obsolete bicycles ,scars and small pieces of rock from my travels...
I collect... music (probably won't come as a surprise to some), CDs, mindiscs, records, cassettes and (thank the lord for) digital files. None get thrown away (apart from the occasional mp3) so all are collected.
Also, boxing on DVD. And (ahem) still have all my VHS tapes going back to the 80s. I don't keep as many fights now, just the good ones, but I used to keep pretty much every fight in a numbered and catalogued VHS library.
Kept every NME since 1978 too, but they tearfully went into the tip one housemove about 10 years ago. Salvaged a few.
Me, in my garden, yesterday

Human fingers.
PinkiePanther
Human fingers
Bloody autocorrect 😉

Worn out chainrings. They decorate the wall of my garage, any space between old race numbers.
Quite a selection of sizes and shapes, and all very past useable. One in particular I'm pleased with has virtually no obvious indication of ever having had teeth! God knows how i got home on that!
Calisthenics moves, just added L sit muscleup to my collection.
Dust.
