I need to buy a new front door, I think I would like a composite one to save a bit of painting/maintenance etc.
So my questions are, have any of you used an online door company, how did it go and are there any doors that are more efficient ( from an insulation point of view.)
Also, did it save you money as opposed to just using a local company? Would you do anything differently next time?
I'm happy doing the installation myself. Thanks muchly in advance
I know I wouldn't like to try to pop one through a letterbox.

Isn't the letter box in the door?
[I tried to find a gif but couldn't, I'll make do with the YouTube instead]

Just make sure you get one that requires some self-assembly...those tend to get posted through the letterbox but require a fair amount of glue to build.
Hey Dick,
We went with this company https://www.more-living.co.uk/ for our new front and back doors. Not mail order I'm afraid, but they were superbly fitted. Each door, with all the fittings and colour matched outside and inside with surrounds, cost about 1K.
Only complaint we had was how long it took them to order and install, but we did order them at the height of the lockdown induced delays.

I got a high security garage door from Latham's but they also do quite nice looking steel front doors. Very solid and well made with extensive fitting videos on YouTube. The wind out fitting kit and masonry screws were good (better than frame fixings and plastic spacers).
Just measure your existing frame carefully as there needs to be a little clearance to adjust everything square (if too tight there will be a poky out brick fouling somewhere that stops you squaring up).
Latham's ones are very 'security looking' though - I've just fitted one in my garage. Very solid product, but top tip about the clearance. I was expecting a bigger sill at the bottom but it came almost flush to the ground, which meant it fouled on the uneven concrete in front of the garage, and I had to chip a load away to get it to fit. There was swearing.
What do we know about mail order front doors?
That my local supplier was cheaper, showed me physical examples and advised me well.
Thanks everyone, I'll have look at Lathams. MOAB interesting.
