It’s midnight. I had a coffee at ten am and it’s still affecting me.

Please can someone recommend me a decent decaf bean for my coffee maker so I can stop lurking here at ungodly hours.

do you even search bro?

Shit coffee is shit regardless of whether it's caffeinated/decaf.

The only way to find one you like is to try some - some recommendations in the link above. My approach is to buy the decaf from the same roasters that do the regular beans I like. Most do a decaf to match their "house" espresso blend, which is usually blended to taste good in milk drinks (which suits me and Mrs Batfink).

No idea if it's good or not, but I've just bought a bag of lavazza decaf beans to use with a hand grinder and aeropress... I'll try to remember to post feedback!

On a related note, if you use topcashback then it's very high on lavazza at the moment...

Agree with the first comment here, the only way to find a bean that YOU like is to try them, we went through 20+ different ones to find a good one for us and that was cool for around a year.

When our bean to cup died and we replaced it we just couldn't get the coffee right and went around again ending up on cheap bean decaff from Sainsburys posh range :/ Heh ho at least its cheap now.

Crank House are a favourite roaster of mine, their decaf is almost as good as their regular beans.

Had one last year that was a lovely mulled pear Christmas pudding flavour, this one is also pretty good tbh.

If you are using a bean to cup you might need to think about how much it retains in terms of grinds. Even if the hopper is empty, likely to be “half-caf” for the first cup or so.

Tesco finest decaff is decent. And if you're northern, booths Swiss water decaff.

No idea on priceas they were a christmas present but hotel chocolat Decaff beans have been nice, their normal ones were exceptional, this is compared to 200 degrees and Pact Coffee both of which I also like.

Just one coffee, or you had your 5th at 10am? Are you hypersensitive to caffeine? I know I can be, so I tend to have one real coffee and one half/full decaf later in the morning or around lunch.

I went with half speed from the previous thread, but after a bad speciality batch and very slow response to an order I'm a bit off extract as a roaster at the moment.

I like "Mahogany Roast Sucker Punch" from Coffee Compass, as the name suggests it is a dark roasted bean with a strong flavour that cuts through nicely for milk drinks.
I would say it might be a bit much for espresso or americano though.

These folks are pricey, but very good. I've had their two darkest roasts so far, and would recommend: https://www.decadentdecaf.com

My B2C has a little spout for pre-ground which we use for decaf. (Delonghi Magnifica)
