We have a glass balustrade that runs down the side of our patio by the drive and in the recent storms there was damage an partial collapse so the wall was rebuilt and the panels replaced.
This has left us with 8 big, very strong glass panels going spare.
Each panel was over £100 and it seems a shame to just bin them given how little damage there is.
I could just sell them to a reclamation yard, or you if you want to collect them, but it annoys me that I have something so obviously useful but I cannot find a use for them. They are very heavy and strong. The photo shows all the damage they sustained when they fell from the patio onto the drive under a pile of rubble.
Any bright ideas what to do with them?
Any of you lot able to make use of them - happy to let you have them extremely cheap if you collect them?

We have a light well in to our cellar. It is currently glazed, but I'm on the look out for some stronger glass as we have a loose toddler. The larger pane looks ideal.

Shame you're not closer. I lost a panel from a first floor balustrade in the storms before xmas.
To show how strong they can be, this panel fell vertically about 8' onto the edge of some stone steps, made a hole in the steps, rolled down two steps and only smashed when it stopped rolling and fell flat onto a stone path!

Or flip that around, and maybe a transparent shark tunnel through the garden pond, but with goldfish instead to make it more attainable.

Same frustration I have. I am sure they are so damn useful for something, I just can't think of what!
Would make an excellent reference flat surface, if someone needs one, toughened safety glass is very, very flat or you can glue wet and dry sandpaper to it to make a poor mans diamond stone sharpener, though they may be a bit big for that. 🙂

That is one taken to be embedded into my workbench surface as a flat surface for reference and glue up. I could even use it for the surface on a resin magazine table I have in progress.

I can’t help with ideas but have a similar issue with what to do with a similar sized trapezoid (a stair balustrade) 10mm toughened pane. Undamaged just made to the wrong size so no use to me. A funky coffee table perhaps but ultimately Less potentially useful Than yours though given the unconventional shape.
