Evening all. I want to take my father (62year old and healthy) on a behind the scenes tour of some famous building, we're both carpenters so ideally would like to show him some intricate roof structures / towers. Anyone got any suggestions or done something similar.
location would be handy
Have to be quick for this: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/dyrham-park/features/visit-the-rooftop-walkway-at-dyrham-park
I'm Stratford upon Avon based, but will make a weekend of it anywhere in the UK..
Ok, tried St Pauls in London?
Have a look at the Livery Companies in London including the Guildhall. Many do tours and some of them like the fishmongers and mercers etc are seriously impressive. Not loads of people either if thats an incentive.
Could even visit the carpenters company!

Check out the roof tour at Lincoln Cathedral. That should be perfect
Mention your story when you book and see if they'll take you onto the chapter house roof too.
