My pair of Giro Pivot 2s seems to be wearing out into holes, which isn't a surprise after several years. While I've had Giro gloves for years and am quite happy with these, they don't seem to do anything equivalent any more.

Anyone got any recommendations? Need to be windproof/showerproof rather than fully waterproof.

If you get two small pairs can you magically transform them into one large pair?

I just bought some 100% Briskers yesterday based on the glowing feedback from everyone on STW. I'll be trying them this weekend on what will likely be a cold and windy ride.

I usually hate riding with gloves unless I absolutely have to but have started getting a bit of Raynaud's.

Briskers are a bit 'fat' for me... I like them but only when it's getting colder than Autumn. I run Kali Cascade protectives gloves and love them, the boy gets his for free, but i've bought mine for myself after trying his on.

100% Brisker.

They don't really look like autumn gloves?

I've got a similar problem with a pair of Specialized gloves which I have had forever and are perfect for spring and autumn but have an ever growing number of small holes in the them, although I just keep wearing them because I can't find any like for like replacement

I’ve got some Gore Windstopper as my autumn gloves. Had them a few years, do the job.

What is an autumn glove? To be honest I ride in the same gloves (Fox Ranger or similar) most of the year.  If it gets a bit chilly the Briskers come out.  They have the usual thin palm material and a thicker wind proof top panel, so they are a bit warmer but the feel is the same as normal gloves. Cold days I have a pair of Fox Fire gloves which are a bit warmer but lack a bit of feel.

On the road where the wind chill factor is much greater I have a pair of Rapha Pro Team gloves, spendy but excellent as keep out the cold and wind but lack bulk.  On cold days it’s Galibier Extra cozy jobs, but they’re bulky.

Does anyone else find that the briskers freeze your fingers if they get even slightly wet??

Something wind proof, I think. I’ve got summer gloves that I just get cold hands with at this time of year.

Southern Englander here, though with shitty circulation in my hands.

I use Fox attack gloves as long as I can into Autumn but maybe only down to 7-8 degrees.  They're waterproof and (obvz) windproof but not really insulated at all so not sweaty for me.  Nice thin palm too.

(ah, just googled them, possibly no longer a thing - see www.leisurelakesbikes.com/clothing/gloves/fox-attack-water-gloves-midnight__306024 )

Just bought a pair of endura windchill gloves this afternoon. That was after freezing my fingers on the cycle to work this morning . Normal price is £36 but there's 40% off just now so I got them for £22 . Not that the discount much use to anyone who is not in Fort William, but the gloves seem to be pretty much what the OP is looking for.

Edit You can get them for £16 plus delivery here https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Endura-Windchill-Long-Finger-Cycling-Gloves_125245.htm?variations=colour:Black,size:S&sku=493278

For years I wore a pair of Oakley Factory Pilot gloves, which were very comfortable, with the added benefit of carbon fibre knuckle protection, perfect when slaloming through the trees in the off-piste parts of the Forest of Dean, and for when slow moving cars alongside suddenly stop, causing your knuckles to impact their nearside door mirror. Not sure if the act of folding the mirror flat against the door pillar would mean permanent damage, but it caused none to me.

Ultimately, I wore through the material in the fingertips, but I found almost exact versions under the name Viper, sold by Airsoft online stores, and they’re every bit as good, but about a third of the price. I don’t ride without gloves, never have, the thought of coming off and putting my hand out reflexively on gravel or flint makes me feel queasy, or impacting my knuckles as above; as with a helmet, I don’t even ride into town without gloves, I’ve been wearing them for riding since I first bought a mountain bike, in 1988.

I’ve just found these, by accident on Tredz site, they may be what you’re looking for…

These are what I wear…

And that dries quickly, so softshell material works well - like the ones I linked above.

I had my 1st ride with 100% Brisker gloves in the frankly foul weather today. Warm enough but I found the palms bunching a bit, which was properly irritating. Guess I have funny shaped hands.

My new Briskers got a good test at Tarland yesterday... rain, sleet, wind. Had to take them off a few times as my hands were too warm! Other than that they didn't bother me at all when wearing them, which is unusual for gloves.

Yes! I've never understood the love for them on the basis of a few chilly/damp Autumn rides I had where I almost swore my hands ended up colder with the gloves on that not 🤣

However this was the Hydromatics, so I guess the waterproof membrane might have been causing sweat and condensation inside the glove which contributed to the freeze.

My go-to gloves for the last 10 years have been my battered old pair of DHB Flashlights. Softshell windproof backing, just baggy enough to squeeze a thin liner into if required, padded palms. I'll be looking for the Alture equivalent once I manage to completely tear the cuffs off the DHBs.
