I think you've just got the entire female contingency on the STW forum quite excited! I used to know someone who could stick his tongue up his nostrils, and he was never without a girlfriend, but licking his eyebrows he MUST be popular! 😉

Anyway... Rather predictably I'm thankful for the sport of Mountain Biking, cos quite frankly without it recently I would have lost the plot totally! Riding bikes, and thinking about riding bikes, is keeping me sane currently so long may that continue.

Also thankful to the (drop dead gorgeous, and witty, and approachable) nurse who's had to take my blood a few times recently, cos I HATE needles with a passion, and she made it relatively pain and embarrassment free.

I'm thankful for the use of my leg... Easy to take them for granted til one of them stops working, and it was a combination of hard work and excellent surgeons but also sheer good luck that meant it healed properly.

If all the poor man can manage to do is lick his eyebrows, 'tis no wonder he has to sit there cadging an occasional eyeball lick from passing strangers.

Think I'm thankful for life in general. It's rather good. Not knowing what might happen next week, just knowing it will involve bikes and mates and laughs.

Also things going to plan, dreams and hope, and the three coming together.

I am thankful for the music, the songs I'm singing..
I say thanks for all the joy they're bringing..
Who can live without it, I ask in all honesty..
What would life be..?
Without a song or a dance what are we..?
So I say thankyou for the music..
For giving it to me..

(Warning: Gooey)

It's our 17th Anniversary today and I am so thankful for my wife. She is amazing. Sometimes it takes something bad to happen to make you realise these things and recent events have made me even more thankful than ever.

My wee boy, my wife, the fact I enjoy my job, the fact that both my legs and my lungs work pretty well despite some rough times, my home and my bike.
Guess I'm actually quite happy with life in general.

My health and fitness
Bikes, riding them, and the cycling community in general
Good friends and family + all the other people you meet with a sense of generosity and perspective
The ability to think for myself... although I think it gets me into trouble sometimes!

I'm thankful for the modern surgical techniques and the surgeon for fixing my heart. Without that, I'd not be the super-fit, wicked awesome 10k runner and shooter I am now.

Well, that and my dogs. They make me happy, even when they wake me up at 4:45 like they did today.

I'm thankful to the Middle Eastern guy who bought Man City.
I'm thankful to Roberto Maccinni for being Man. City's manager.
I'm thankful for my consultant psychiatrist and the mental health nurses who keep me mentally health'd, pretty much on demand.
I'm thankful to the fundraisers who do a sterling job of ensuring my wife's place of employment stays open and keeps us in the lifestyle to which we aspire.
I'm thankful that neither my wife, daughter or myself are in need of the services that my wife's employer provides.
I'm thankful for the rain today that cut short my riding plans (I wasn't in the mood for the planned ride)
I'm mostly thankful though that my wife is an absolute angel and deals with the heaps of catastrophes I can and do create on an all too regular basis with a calmness and quiet determination and that she loves me more than anything she ever could.
I'm going to have a little cry in a minute 😳

pretty much just life in general, and being in reasonably good shape these days after surviving congestive heart failure 6 years ago.
and that 14 months ago a certain amazing woman agreed to meet up with me for tea and cake, but wasn't disappointed by the lack of both items when we got to the place i chose... and is still happy for me to hang around with her, refusing to "grow up"!
