They are brown, spikey, about 1"diameter, cling on to your clothing, gloves, have a grip like strong velcro and they are not "sticky Willie's"
Once they're on you can't get them off
Greater burdock burr
Worst Echo & the Bunnymen tribute act
So in summary the question is 'Whats brown and sticky?'
Klingons

A stick!
I thank you. 🙂
Dangleberries?
Don't try to remove them from your gloves with your lips/mouth whilst riding along.
Ask me how I know 😬
They really dig into the mucus membranes under your tongue.

Worse than sudocrem?
Spikey Normans!
Although that might be what the OP referred to as sticky Willie's....
Worse than sudocrem?
If you cover the cat in sudocreme first, the burs don't catch as bad.
they are not “sticky Willie’s”
no, they're sticky Willie’s balls

I'll ask, just to carry on the laughter as to why you would imagine it would be a good idea
I think it's the tiny little ball bearing sized ones that are utter bar stewards to remove. Not as they are difficult as such but there can be so MANY of them!
Now.... What's their name?!
Sticky buds are the small ones. Possibly a non-formal name.
@poopscoop if you mean the tiny ones that come of long strings that invade our garden or hedgerows in general then it is goosegrass also known to us as stickyweed and Wikipedia tells me is called cleavers, as well as fancy Latin names.
Apparently it is edible in theory so maybe I should be harvesting that rather than our blackcurrant bushes that get buried in it every year.

@stgeorge
It just seemed like a good idea, rather than stopping the bike and using both hands....
"I know, I'll just pick it off with my mouth."
"Ow, oh ****, that hurts."
"Shit, now my mouth is full of needle sharp hooks."
Definitely a "sticky willy" the cleaver/goosegrass not to be confused with foreskin Gouda that's a stinky willy easily cured with a bar of soap
