I see that it was dissolved a couple of weeks ago. Does that mean that David Cameron is no longer PM etc?

It means that there is a power vacuum and that it's an excellent time to stage an armed insurrection. Although the iconic storming of Parliament might lose its historical gravitas if the armed mob storm an empty building and the only potential prisoner for the gallows is a cleaning lady and her Henry.

Visa application system enters shutdown.

When Mr Billingham contacted his local MP, Priti Patel, he was told by her office that the hotline used to enquire about visa applications had been shut down while Parliament was closed during the run-up to the general election on 7 May.

I also like that you can't resign as an mp. Instead you're appointed to some archaic position which makes you a paid servant of the crown, and as you can't be a crown servant and an mp, you then get barred from being an mp.

It also leads to anachronisms like Gerry Adams being very temporarily a crown servant when he resigned from parliament to become an Irish mp, a position he shared with the Rev Ian Paisley.
