You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
As I've not seen anyone scribbling in a notebook to record their workout at the gym, I'm assuming people are using an app?
Anyone recommend one please.
I just set my workouts up in Garmin connect, and use my watch.

I used to use JEFIT - it's pretty good, lots of options like a workout calendar, massive database of exercises, progress tracker, pre built programmes etc

Pen and notepad is less hassle, and have gone back to that.
Strong lifts 5*5.
Notepad and pen. Easiest way.
I use Strong, but I paid for it years ago and now I get lifetime use for free (it's a sub model now).
Notebook and pen
Strengthlog app. It's free and works really well. Even offers about a third of its programs for free too. It sets all your targets based on previous lifts and is very intuitive to use. I'm so impressed with it.
Excel
Interesting that notebook and pens have a following still. My memory alone is proving ineffective, partly as I train at 2 different gyms, slightly different kit at each. And I'm just getting old.
Will check out Strengthlog though
I use my Garmin watch too via connect. It guesses what exercise you are doing using the accelerometers or whatever, but probably only gets it right about 30% of the time. You obviously then put the weight in. You can go in to connect and correct the exercise names afterwards if you want, but I mostly CBA. I just use it to record duration and a rough estimate of calories. I record actual sets and reps in a notebook.
I used a notebook. I'd always leavey phone behind as it's z distraction
Simple workout log has been the simplest and most flexible app I've found for this.
Fit hero is quite good.
Notepad is fine but itshandybthat if you a an activity to a set it knows your history etc.
