What Air Compressor for Tyres etc

So Collective STW wisdom,

My Ferrex pump from Aldi has just failed. I used it mostly for car and motorbike tyres, but am considering using it for more tasks. What should I get as a replacement? It will live in the garage, use 240v, and I will just use extension cable on the drive when needed.
