I'm not asking for medical advice or a cure, I've got a GP for that; I'm just curious cos I've had a fair few rather unusual symptoms in the last week.
Last Friday I did a short but hard Zwift session. Went deep and it hurt but ok. Then on Saturday we took the caravan to stay near my folks. Did nothing on Saturday but that night I couldn't sleep well at all with terrible sore lower back. I blamed it on the caravan bed. It was a feeling I'd had before when being bed-ridden with campylobacter, including raw tingling skin on my back, but no rash. It abated when I got up and I went for a bike ride with my mum on her e bike that morning. My legs and the rest of me felt absolutely terrible but being me and wanting to race I dug deep again. Clearly stupid thing to do as afterwards I felt rubbish, consistent with having tried hard whilst ill. That night I got worse, and really felt like I had food poisoning but no puking or shitting, in fact the opposite of the shits. And for about an hour that night I had a runny nose. Then my stomach became sore which lasted a few days. Also fever. And outward signs of bacteria in a personal area which I'd never seen before. And sore eyes. Now my body seems ok but it feels like I have a sinus infection.
It's almost as if some bacterium started off in my kidneys or guts and worked it's way upwards through my body through various different parts. Can this happen?
I'm gradually improving all the time and paracetamol really helped which is why I didn't go to the docs.
Shingles
Regardless of anything else, the fact you raced you mum on an e-bike needs calling out 😀
i can’t help but wish you all the best, does sound like a bacterial infection.
Grancer.
Also fever.
Was the covid test negative?
Has your cat had unprotected sexual contact with any sub-saharan african cats?
Was the covid test negative?
It was yes, thanks for checking 🙂
I did read up and some blogger had very similar symptoms that turned out to be shingles. But I've had no rash.

I kept telling her she'd thrash me but she refused to believe it so I had to demonstrate. Tbh it was more competitive on steep stuff, I managed to get away on some fire roads.
Hmm apparently shingles without a rash is a thing. But it says that it's almost always on one side of the body. My back ache was symmetrical, but my sore eye was on one side. And the runny nose on the other...
I'm with Kryton; you raced your mum?
Hopefully the symptoms are you slowly dying of shame. 😉
My mum was an Olympic hopeful athlete, before jacking it in at a young age - and not because of lack of competitive spirit or talent... just because she's old and female doesn't mean she doesn't still enjoy dishing out the pain! Tbh that's one reason I took my bike up, to give her the opportunity to do so.
Bacterial Manitosis
It’s not shingles if there’s no rash. You can have flu like symptoms (or no symptoms at all) for a couple of days before the rash appears, but the diagnosis is made by seeing the blisters.
I’m going with man flu 🤧
I’m going with man flu
It was caused by racing his mother on a bike.

Covid, overtraining or Cat AIDS.
